This is a small museum within the conference centre of the knights of Malta, in Valletta. The Blurb for this reads“Beneath the ‘Sacra Infermeria’, beside the historic Fort St Elmo, you will discover the chivalrous world of the Hospitaller Knights. Wander in an authentic site and relive and experience a past golden age. Now, you can go back in time through sights, sounds and smells – from the Crusades to the Great Siege, the glorious Hospital and the Plague. Travel across 700 years of history, of the Knights of St John.”

I found this tour very interesting. It can be purchased separately or with The Malta Experience. We went later in the day and the wax works area was closed by 4.00. This was disappointing . Not sure if this is everyday so worth checking.

It takes you underground into the old psych ward of the Knights hospital. There are static vignettes set up & you walk through.

This was a fascinating little Museum, well worth visiting and very easy to find near the waterfront in Valetta. I knew little about the Hospitallers other than their name, and it certainly taught me a lot. The movement had a long history on the island,...More

We passed here on a self-guided walking tour of Valetta, and came in primarily to get out of the rain and to use the toilets! We were pleased that we did, as it contains a fascinating museum detailing the work of the Knights Hospitaliers and...More
