Located on one of the main streets is the Carmelite Priory. It is easy to miss, but if you see it, it is free to enter this charming Priory.

I escaped from ladies browsing in the gift shop opposite which itself was a seminary (Note religious scripts over doorways inside) The Carmelite church was lovely especially the oval painted ceiling. I did not realise that the Priory itself could also be visited.

Like Italy, Malta is full of churches. This is a small one in the hill town of Mdina and quite lovely. As Mdina is small its easy to find.

A tranquil, beautiful church with all the grandeur of a much bigger location. Free to enter and just a short walk from the main cathedral. Serene and peaceful, definitely worth a visit.

The Priory has impressive artistic value. The highlight is the Refectory where friars gather for communal meals. It is an illustration of total Baroque art, where paintings, sculpture and architecture come together. A courtyard gives natural light to the surrounding cloisters that connect the Priory...More

Carmelite Priory Mdina is a great example of beautiful sacred architecture. If it were not for the fact that I had already seen dozens of such objects in Malta, I would be delighted. They are often as beautiful as this one
