Whilst on the yellow route Hop on Hop Off bus in Malta we had a 15 minute stop at Mdina glass. They had a lovely showroom with modern designs.

Mdina glass is preceded by its reputation and compared to Malta's other glass factory, Valletta Glass, this place is a distinct class above in quality. We spent a long time in the large shop area just in awe of the craftsmanship and colours of the...More

The shop is a bit out of the town. Loads of coaches stopped here as well as the city sightseeing bus. There is an epic amount of glass, everything you can think of in glass format from lights, sweets and models of loads of animals....More

Unfortunately due to luggage restrictions on the plane, I wasn't able to buy the whole shop like I wanted to. This glassware is stunning. So much colour and creativity. I came back with a lovely Christmas decoration that was reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Free to enter and vast selection of glassware. You can watch the workers for as long as you like making the glassware as well as separate area for finer Glass ornament work. The shop has Factory seconds / discount area as well.

Very interesting glass factory where you can see how glass is traditionally made and afterwards you can visit a large shop with quite interesting pieces.

I've been to Mdina glass a few times. But this last visit suggests to me they are starting to cater to the short visits cruise passengers make. The prices of the items have gone up, a lot since my last visit.
