The fish market is wonderful, there are lots of fish stores there along with other goods and fruits stores, better than other market where you can only find some fake bags and cheap things, colorful boats are beautiful, only thing is to get there ,we got on the bus...More

We checked google maps for directions and noted it was open today. Travelled by two buses and upon arriving in Marsaxlokk were informed it was closed due to weather conditions. Pity the web did not indicate this and we woild have chosen a different day....More

It’s better to come here on a non-Sunday. As the Sunday market is the same you would find anywhere around the world with Chinese dolls and toys and shoes and some fish but that is so crowded you cannot really go in with small kids

It is a long farmers market at the port area. We did not like the restaurants, since they really take advantage of tourists. The bottle water was $16. So, buyer be aware...but otherwise, it can be a nice stroll.

Sunday Market is very commercial and does not seem to me an exceptional tourist attraction. You can buy souvenirs from your stay in Malta. Unfortunately, the place got very touristic in a bad word of this sense. Years ago it was a fishing village; you...More

This market sells a range of things from kitchen supply’s, food for the locals, a range of very bad quality fake goods, cheap souvenirs and clothes. It is not a fish market although there were a few stalls selling fish. We didn’t buy anything and...More

My friend and I arrived close to noon on a Sunday, not the best time according to some advice. But our goal was to soak in the day at this local event and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There looked to be a stand with home-made...More

There's a lot of culture in this weekly festivity. However, the crowds are nearly unbearable and you'll get nothing but lousy service at any restaurant you might choose to eat at. Getting a seat in any restaurant will be a major accomplishment. The markets themselves...More

I think it closes around 2 pm (some were closes at that time), but they might have changed that.

I imagine the sooner you get there the better, not sure exactly what time it opens. I don't think you can leave the fish as I don't think it is open all day. Best to ask at the hotel or tourist information. Enjoy.
