Located in one of the least touristy towns of Gozo Island, this is a beautiful church. Inside is very luminous unlike many other churches. It was open when we were there at lunch time unlike many other churches in Gozo Island which were closed at...More

A lovely unspoilt church, there is a dress code requirement like all churches on these islands, shawls are provided for the ladies to cover their bare shoulders. The room at the back of this church is full of artefacts from the original church that the...More

This church can be seen from so many points around Gozo and is a real landmark. The size of the dome is amazing and I had a fantastic view of this lovely building from the place I was staying in Xewkija.

I visited the church and was amazed by the enormous dome which was supported by 8 pillars around its edges, it has some history and it is a new church built on top of a much older church.

My wife is fascinated by these grand old Churches, as am I to an extent...however in a place like Malta it's easy to suffer from Church Fatigue. This one is different. If you go see the ladies in the side Sculpture chapel to the left...More

We went to this impressive church and went up in the lift to the base of the dome. Great views of the surrounding area, I t also gives you an idea of what an achievement it was to build this.
