Had it not been included as part of the Heritage Pass, we would not have come. Small cells to look at with old grafetti. information given about prison conditions. Rather skippable.

When you go to the prison, you can just imagine those who were held here, etching their marks into the walls, to be preserved for centuries!

This "museum" is very small, but the prison cells are worth a look just for the graffiti. 30mins tops.

This was my wife's favourite of the various museums within the Citadel. It gives you an insight into what life was like in the prison.

Although very small site with the Malta heritage pass entry is free and it really does have to be seen to be believed. The graffiti of yesteryear leaves you speechless.

My favourite part of the Old Prison was seeing the ancient graffiti - there are carvings from 136AD!!!! (Pictured)

We visited as we had the Malta Heritage pass, so gave us entry, though in retrospect, I would not have paid separately for this. There are about 6 cells to see, with little in. There is a bit of graffiti around, else it is a...More

I personally do not recommend this place, it is not worth spending time whereas other areas of the citadelle is much more interesting.

Yes it is and it is very easy to find. Go to the front of the cathedral, up the steps and turn left following what looks like a long balcony. It will lead you to the front door! I hope this is helpful!
