The Citadel is set in the beautiful capital of Gozo - Victoria (originally named Rabbat). As you enter into the narrow streets, you will see the cathedral in all it's glory. As you continue to walk up you will reach the fortress walls which offer a panoramic view of the stunning island. Churches, little towns, agricultural land and of course... More

Citadel is a must if you visit at Gozo. Place is nice and there is a great view of the landscape of Gozo. Plenty of shops but rather touristic and expensive compared to many other shops. Might be extreme place during high tourist season, meaning queueing, because the corridors and stairs are quite narrow. Worth of visiting.

Have visited the citadel nearly every year now for over 25 years. It' has been restored a lot recently and is in the best shape ever. The only thing I could not understand is why they built such a big door in front of the cathedral, when I always remember it as an open door where one could see the... More

Enjoyed our visit to this piece of living history, even more as it was free to enter and not overrun with queues of tourists. parking easy right next to entrance and cheap at 1.75 euros. Snippets of information posted onto walls gave a great flavour for the areas usage without having to read huge great swathes of history. Particularly enjoyed... More

Lovely walk around the citadel. Lots to see and stunning views. To discover a history and learn more about the culture. the cathedral is nice to discover, the old prison to. And if you feel hungry there is a restaurant where you can enjoy a nice meal.

Great restoration! Start by touring the Museum which is located below the citadel. Then get into to citadel and walk along the bastions to capture stunning views of Gozo! The above mentioned are all free. The citadel's museums carry a fee but great to see & learn. Enjoy the visit! Every so often events are held weather permitting!
