Was not much popular with tourists before, but after the collapse of Azzure window in Gozo, now this one got really popular, even if the road is really damaged and narrow.
Better enjoyed if you rent a quadbike or a scooter.
The view is great but it`s on top of a cliff, have to be very careful when you`re with kids.
There`s not any fees or charges to visit this site

A natural beauty which cannot be missed while in Gozo. A window cut in the rocks in a marvellous place surrounded by blue sea.

It is a less famous and quiet place in respect of the other tourists spot in Gozo, the Maltese Islands. But genuinely, it is beautiful and worth to visit. But have to be careful with the young children.

Worth the trip along the ragged roads. Great spot for a private picnic but the main feature is the impressive geology.

Second time visiting it is hard to find we used Waze instead of google maps which made it easier. Very nice view but difficult to get to. Stairs with railing is blocked off half way down. Hopefully they will reopen it.

The Wied il- Mielah Window is impressive natural limestone arch!! This rock window is situated in the middle of the area between Wied I-Ghasri a valley close to Marsalforn and San Dimitri Point in the north- west corner of Gozo,not far from the village of Gharb. This place is quiet. Here you don't see a lot of tourists like Dwejra Bay where is collapsed Azure Window.
In this place is a steep stairway down to see the arch but be very careful.

I stopped here as a part of my Gozo Quad Bike tour. It's another great sight to see. Personally, I haven’t had the chance to see Azure's Window but Wied il-Mielah Window is magnificent in its own right. I would visit again if I could remember how we got there. I took a lot of pictures here… just amazing.

One of my favorite nature attractions. It is never crowded as many people do not know it exists. Probably this will be "the new window" after the famous Azure Window was taken away by nature recently.
How to get to this place:
- 1st is going through Gharb, behind Gharb Church hitting Triq Frenc ta' l-Gharb continuing on Triq Il-Blata which will merge to Triq Ta' Wied Il-Mielah (approximately 30 minutes of walking from the church)
- 2nd is going from Marsalforn along the coast, passing the Salt Pans & Wied Il-Ghasri (approximately 1 hour by foot)
- 3rd from Azure Window along the coast (can take up to 2 hours on foot)
Can be reached by car as well, through Gharb, Marsalforn and Ghasri (up to 20 minutes drive), please keep in mind that some parts of the road can be rough, especially coming from the Ghasri side.
Take your water and snacks if you're planning to trek as there are no food stands along the way.
If you decide to trek along the coast, you will see some breathtaking scenery. Once you reach the window be careful as some parts can be slippery so avoid climbing on top of the window & doing crazy stunts for the pictures.
Please be respectful and take care of the attraction - take your plastic bottles with you and also cigarette buds. Enjoy and keep it clean!

Following the collapse of the Azure Window in Dwejra, this site has become a popular attraction with locals and tourists alike. Going down the road with your private car is not recommended especially on weekends as the road is quite narrow and there are instances where only one car can pass up or down this two way street. Unless it's too hot, raining, have a mobility impairment or sitting comfortably in a minibus or coach, walking down this road is an alternative that should be considered. At the end of the road some walking over unleveled ground is required to view this attraction. Better still, go down the flight of stairs to get a good view and some very nice pictures but one can enjoy the view from above too, making the effort to reach this attraction worthwhile.

After the collapse of the azure window, this is now one of the best "windows" in Malta. I would not recommend going down the stairs to get closer if people like elderly or families with young children are traveling with you, but it can still be witnessed if you remain at street-level.
