Busy and some people rude but quite nice
All I saw were complaints about how busy it was and jellyfish. We went in peak season (middle of summer) and he’s it was slightly busy on land but once in the water it was fine. Didn’t see a single jellyfish while I was there. It was a bit difficult to get into the water because people were surrounding the coast and land. At one area the only way to get in was via a ladder, there were ladies posing for photos on the ladder. There was a huge que to get in the water but they were too busy posing. They wouldn’t listen when we told them to move. There are a lot of arrogant people everywhere you go though. But like I said once in the water it was lovely. We got some nice cocktails in pineapples which were really nice so I definetely recommend just for the experience even though it can be a bit overwhelming.

    Something different
We went in March and luckily we got sun and good weather. Some daredevils also dived into the sea. It had three canteens, which served cocktails and food such as burgers, pizza, hot dogs, etc. Loud music. It wasn't very crowded so we enjoyed it and had a great time. The beach is very small. So I find this particular place for summer, because it's so small, it's a real hassle.

Terrible welcome to a beautiful island
Landing point for any trip to Comino and not a great start once you have been wowed by the colour of the water. Busy and noisy with ridiculously load music on what should be considered a natural wonder. However take yourself away from the landing point and the island is a true gem

Head to St Mary’s Bay instead.
Malta need to be careful as this paradise has been spoilt but ridiculously loud music, ignorant people galore and rubbish bins overflowing despite the clear hard work of the cleaners. The true beauty and tranquility lies at St Mary’s Bay, 20 minute walk in the opposite direction. This is more secluded, relaxed and has equally clear water.

Worth a visit but don't expect too much
It is one of the stops of the visit by ferry. The place is beautiful, but very crowded and in the most accessible spaces it is almost impossible to stop to sunbathe or just take a swim. Lots of kiosks, extremely noisy. I managed to dive but only between the rocks. The water is wonderful. If you go to Malta it is a must visit, but don't expect too much.

Too much rubbish, too many people
What a sad place this is to visit. When you get off one of the very many boats coming and going, you are met by a whole fleet of food trucks each one blasting its own music and shouting. The water is stunning to look at, but the island itself is just covered in rotten pineapples, plastic straws, plastic drink cups. People are climbing all over everywhere, there are no clear paths. There is just so many people there that you cannot appreciate the beauty of the place. You can see how much damage the people are creating by just walking all over everything, the plants and animals are really showing the signs of wear and tear. So sad that all these people are allegedly over to see a wonder of nature, but in reality its all about partying in groups all over the island.

The Blue Lagoon in Comino is a must-see
I recommend visiting Comino. Depending on how many days you have in Malta, you can spend a whole day there or you can do package cruises - Comino, Gozo and caves, this is the one I recommend most as it is more complete. It costs around €25 and there are plenty of companies offering this service. With time to stop at each. In Comino your eyes go to the water, the color is beautiful! This is the beach you can expect on this island. There are toilets, food, drinks, souvenirs, towels…

A crowded island, but pretty to see
I give a good rating for the clarity of the water, the extraordinary view I had while sailing the Blue Lagoon. Otherwise it is a place overpopulated with tourists. The boats park side by side and the arrivals follow one another. There are even shops on the island to attract tourists. It's really overpopulated.

Walk a little to escape the crowds.
I visited here in 1976 so I was naively shocked to see it now. Chaotic , rammed and burger vans alongside the hoards . However, not to be defeated , we walked 20 mins around the coast and found a very quiet spot with a couple of other intrepids. We swam here and thoroughly enjoyed our little jaunt.

    Heavenly but very popular
Heavenly place but a lot of people because it is very popular. You have to arrive quite early if you want to have a place or put down your towel. You can rent a deckchair but it is quite expensive (10€ per deckchair). There are quite a few snack bars, cocktail bars, ice cream parlors, etc. The place is very clean (unlike other beaches in Malta). Also interesting for snorkeling because the water is super clear. Be careful when leaving the Blue Lagoon, there is a crowd effect on the pontoon because everyone is waiting for the boats to board but each person has a different colored ticket.. it is very poorly organized, everyone is pushing each other and tries to make his way. You may want to plan to leave the island before 5 p.m. to avoid rush hour.

Through our hotel, we bought an excursion to Comino Laguna Blu in the afternoon with sunset but, after reading the reviews, we decided to opt for the morning, doing it on our own. Buses from Bugibba (they are really comfortable and punctual) soon and ferry.
Arrived there, we took two chairs + umbrella (all very attached on the rocks), at the "modical" price of 31 euros. It would be 30 but if you pay with the card 31 (illegal but they bet on the fact that no one wants to do things ..).
What about it? It is a natural pool, a splendor and a pleasure to swim in! What a pity indeed about the crowd and the flood of people disembarking from late morning, people even lying on the concrete sunbathing when , in fact, should not be allowed.
Well, we were right to avoid the afternoon, even though we lost money. Highly Recommendation at other times or going early.

Beautiful place but not to visit in summer! I recommend visiting in autumn, without excessive tourism, or in any other season except summer, in which you will see very little of the blue water and natural beauty, due to too many boats, too many swimmers, too much waste, too much food thrown on the ground , too much plastic, too much loud reggaeton. For a safe visit of the entire island, I recommend footwear for uneven terrain... and for those who want to take a swim away from the noise, I recommend a beach located on the opposite side of the blue lagoon, not equipped, but decidedly more peaceful. It is possible to see Cassiopeia jellyfish, fish, crabs, and for the luckiest sea turtles.

You should definitely go with a private provider or, ideally, with a local provider like in our case. I wouldn't book with a hotel provider!!! You pay 15 euros on site. On the way there we took a speed boat, which was pretty cool. The driver stopped at the caves, which are really beautiful. The lagoon is amazing. Little Caribbean! We were there on the first ferry at 9am, and you should do that because at 12pm there was still mass tourism!!! That's why we would never go there again. You can't get a lounger then and the staff on site are completely overwhelmed. At least one boat with around 40-50 people arrives every half hour. That's just too much for this dream island. We've known Malta for many years, but mass tourism has now arrived here too. A shame! Prices on site for food and drink are expensive but OK.

Thanks to a sailing tour we fell in love with this splendid lagoon, but a stop of just over an hour was too little to fully enjoy its splendid crystal clear waters. So we decided to return a few days later with the first ferry in the morning and stay until 6pm, the time of the last ferry to return. We rented deckchairs and umbrellas at a really ridiculous price for the whole day and we were literally with our feet in the water. As good Livornese we are not afraid of rocks, so we had no problems. Possibility to also rent masks to explore the wonderful and crystal clear seabed. I recommend going very early because being small, it fills up quickly and it is difficult to find a seat. The cocktails that use pineapple as a "glass" that are sold throughout the island are nice.

The Blue Lagoon as depicted in articles, adverts and reviews looks like a lost in paradise place, but in reality it's hell in water together with some 3000 tourists in a bay that measures 300m at most. Even if you go early, you are faced with empty deckchairs and umbrellas all over the place for 15Eur each (family of four = 60Eur). Deckchairs are laid touching each other, so privacy space 0cm. At about noon it was so overcrowded and noisy that I must say it was unpleasant. There is one ladder to go down (to cater hundreds of swimmers, hence you need to queue to go in the beach! Speedboats and luxury boats with loud music (like a competition) very close by. Yet the colour of the water is truly amazing. Another amazing place spoiled by overtourism and lack of enforcement and control. Going back to the boat was another nightmare, different operators and no organisation to know where is your boat.

Went here in April 2024 and it was horrendous. I had read the reviews about avoiding July and August but I did not expect that on a normal weekend in April (not Easter holidays). It was completely overcrowded with what looked to me like gap year students, all drinking heavily. We had to fight to get back on the boat to get off the island, I was in a total panic, I thought we were going to be left on the island all night. There was nowhere to sit down. There were loads of shabby food outlets selling junk food. It's such a shame as without these and the drinks it could be lovely. If anyone really wants to go, just make sure you go on an organised tour and do not buy tickets from the vendors outside the port as you cannot guarantee getting back off the island

View leaving at eight in the morning from Cirkewwa (I was staying d
at Paradise beach hotel which I highly Recommendation for those who want to visit the beaches of comino and the island of gozo)
Until 12 it is an earthly paradise! Especially from 8:30 to 10 10:30
From 12 better leave place and visit gozo 😅
there is no real beach but rocks with deckchairs stacked: knowing to stay half a day I bargained 20 € for two deckchairs and an umbrella. I highly recommend to be comfortable when entering the water without having to climb the rocks and be able to leave a comfortable towel and backpacks. There are many kiosks for lunch fruit drinks aperitifs: take away xchè there is no seat.

We were recommended to go here during our trip to Malta and honestly I wish I had ignored the recommendation. The water here looks beautiful, but that's it. It's completely overrun with people who come here just to take Instagram pics with their pineapple drinks (which they leave lying around everywhere afterwards). The sandy strip is a few square metres at best.

Getting back from the island was also a nightmare. We used the Ebsons Comino Ferries and not only did they charge us more than was written on their booklet, they didn't even pick us up at the promised time. There were hordes of people waiting to leave the island and there is only one dock, which is used by all the different companies offering their boat services, so you can only imagine how delayed our departure was. People were pushing each other, trying to leave this godforsaken island. If you do decide to go, book one of those pre-arranged trips on bigger boats that depart from St Julien's or St Paul's Bay because then you at least don't have to wonder whether you can even get back and you won't have to wait on that one tiny dock while everyone pushes you around.

We went as a family to the Blue Lagoon, using one of the boat trips from Silema.

Firstly the setting is absolutely stunning. It really is idyllic and amazing. Would be hard pushed to see many other places as picturesque as this.

There are two things to be aware of. Firstly, it's obviously a boat ride and took a couple of hours from Silema. It was nice in the morning but on the way back all 4 of us felt unwell....there was a faint swell and we were all glad to get off. I think we picked a day that was more challenging than usual, but be aware (particularly if you're susceptible to sea sickness, which usually I'm not). I'd say this is more about timing of when to go.

Secondly, the Blue Lagoon gets very busy, even though we were there out of season. It was hard to find space to sit down (we did, but it was literally towels next to each other) and, personally, I found it hard to relax. I'll be honest, I'm not a beach person so I'm not surprised. My wife and two late teenage children loved it and they would highly recommend the venue, so please bear that in mind.

Plenty of food and drink there, and prices were pretty reasonable. Nice not to feel price gouged for a change!
