My friends and I found the dairy on TripAdvisor and decided to go one day when in Croatia. When we arrived we had no reservations but they were more than accommodating sitting us down telling us the great history of the dairy and the tasting was phenomenal. I highly recommend making this a stop if you have a car and can get there while on a drive through the country.…

I explored Istrian inland with my friends and we visited Dairy Latus since all of us are cheese lovers. In addition to tasting delicious yoghurt and cheese, we also learned about the history of the region, local customs, cheese production and the life on the farm. Olivera was a great host who told us those stories in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They even gave us a short tour of the farm, and we saw cows happily grazing on the nearby field. Since this is a place in the heart of Istria - just 20 minutes away by car from any major town there (Rovinj, Pula...), I would definitely recommend a visit to this unique place. In addition to tasting different types of delicious cheese (an award winning cheese Veli Jože is a must), you will taste some great Istrian wines too so the eperience is complete. Don't go home before you buy the cheese you liked the most in their shop downstairs :-)…
