Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We decided that we wanted to hike Mt. Maglic on our trip and chose to through a company called Much better adventures on a group trip. This company used EST Adventure as the local company to guide us.
The pre departure information was enough to get by with, and whilst we was on a short pre climb holiday in Croatia more information came through to us regarding what to expect. We was collected at Dubrovnik airport and taken to Trebinje in Bosnia passing through 2 passport controls along the way. We met our guide Igor here and had lunch before heading on tour local hotel for the night.
The drive up to the start of the hike was a very bumpy journey and after an hour we was at the start of the trail.
The hike was beautiful, passing through trees and bushes before hiking up steeper paths to the start of the cable sections. The cable was a little loose and Igor advised against using it, which was not a problem as there was plenty of rocks to get hold off and climb up. Igor watched over everyone at these points to ensure everyone passed safely. After another hour we crested the ridge to see the summit nearby. A final 20 minutes of gentle walking and final scramble and we was on the summit of the highest mountain in Bosnia.
The descent was arranged to visit Trnovacko lake which even though looked far away was inviting us to visit. The descent started off quite gentle through the undulating hills, but soon became very steep on slippery scree paths. This particular section took us an hour to descend and plenty of rocks were knocked off the path higher up that bounced down around us. Care has to be taken at this section and the training that you had to put in prior to the hike stopped your legs from burning up. Eventually we arrived at the emerald green Trnovacko lake and some of our group had a swim to cool off. After an hour here we had the hike to finish and a final push back up over a ridge we arrived back at our vehicle to take us back to our hotel.
It took our group just under 3 hours to ascend and another 3 hours to descend the peak. A great day out in lovely weather with exceptional views.

It was very hard to get decent information about visiting this park. We found Radovic guest house and the lady there gave us more info than we could find on the net. We wanted to visit the primeval forest but you need a guide and with the added car rental costs it was going to cost 150 Euro. We rented a car and driver for 40 Euro for the day, park entrance was 2.5 Euro per person. On the way to Maglic mountain we stopped at the lovely view points, which are in the primeval forest just off the main road to the mountain. At the top car park our driver pointed us in the direction and it's an easy followed 6 km track through beautiful scenery to the heart shaped lake. In June the meadows are a blaze of wild flowers

The best way to Maglič is by the car from Tjentište to Prijevor, it´s rough way, mostly gravel and it´s not good idea drive with normal car (only jeep 4x4). The view from the mountain is really nice.

Maglic is the highest mountain of Republik of Srpska and Bosnia and Hercegovina. Other important mountains such as Bioc , Volujak or Trnovacki Durmitor, with Maglic create a mountain complex at North West part of Montenegro. Sutjeska river separates them from Zelengora peaks on the other side of the same river.

There are several routes to hike and reach the peak. You can also freely camping on many places around the mountain. The most famous place to stay is Trnovacko Jezero lake, which is characterized for its heart shape. I recomend to look back in the meanwhile you are facing to Maglic peak. Bring some food to do BBQ and beverages.

Don't forget that this is a high-altitude mountain and weather can change unexpectedly, so please check out the weather forecast typing the nearest village which is Pluzine.

Last thing, pay attention to the valleys of there with a "U" shape, that indicates the previous glaciar erosion. AS you can figure out the glacier has already gone, due to the climate change.

Beautiful walk from Drina rafting centre in a 4x4 to starting point. Reached a vanatge point at 1800 m in about 1 1/2 hrs, down into a valley and up to a beautiful lake at 1500 m. The guide prepared coffee and tea for all in one of the shelters stocked for hikers. Warm and professional guide.

We've had the most amazing hike to Maglic and Trnovacko jezero. There was an adventure in there too when we were surrounded by bulls, but I'd need to write a blog to tell you all about it. The view from the top of Bosnia and Herzegovina is amazing. It helped that we had the sunniest of days and could see for miles ahead.

Absolutely amazing views. Very difficult and somewhat dangerous hike. Very difficult road to the trailhead. Not for the faint of heart. But it is worth it. I am glad I did it because I will be too old to do it when I come back. Take twice as much water as you think you will need it.
