Don't be fooled by the overgrown appearance -- I saw two crews working to maintain the grounds. I love visiting cemeteries around the world and especially those that have so much character as here. I strolled through early one morning and easily could have spent...More

I always like to visit cemeteries when I visit a place. This is very interesting to see the longevity of the people around 1850s...maybe the diet?

I am weird and I really enjoy walking through cemeteries, so naturally I had to go here on my trip to Reykjavik. It was such a beautiful cemetery! It was like walking through a forest and a garden at the same time. All the graves...More

Interesting layout with many trees. Alot of history! It was interesting to see all the dates and connect it to the historical events of the time. Always sad to see the number of children buried there.

There's so many spaces, places and structures dedicated to memory. This crowd of mini-memorials is an enchanting example of love, legacy and history. Take a phone with a data connection to translate some of the occupations listed on the headstones. It'll help you connect with...More

The cemetery makes certainly an impression. Low trees growing in the graves themselves make it seem not well kept. This is not the case. It seems to be how they like it. The cemetery is divided into sections by death of the first deceased. Starting...More
