This is my favorite shop that I've ever been to anywhere. Most of the goods are homemade woolens knitted by volunteers. The shop started over a century ago, run by volunteers to raise money for those in need. The woolens are heavenly. We shopped here...More

This amazing shop in Reykjavic has a great story: founded by a group of young women in 1875, volunteers make and sell woollen products and the profits support children's charities. Inside it's a wonderland for knitted sweaters, hats, gloves and other woolly items. The prices...More

This is the place if you want hand-knit woolen items. Many items (sweaters, scarves, hats, mittens) are hand made and the tag give the name of the artist. Prices are the same as anywhere else, but I like the idea of supporting a local person...More

I found the exact type of sweater that I was looking for here. Many sweaters in other shops that are made from Icelandic wool are not actually knitted/manufactured in Iceland. I was looking for one that specifically said on the label that it was made...More

We visited Thorvaldsens Bazar in Jan, 2017 and my wife purchased two beautiful Icelandic wool sweaters. Ladies were friendly and helpful and the best part is that everything is donated to charity which made the purchases seem fulfilling since we know it was going to...More

Nice selection of Icelandic sweaters, hats, mittens etc. Prices fair compared to other places and proceeds go to a good cause which is an added bonus. I bought a sweater and my husband a hat which we both enjoy.

Volunteer manned shop donating profits to charity. Lovely hand knitted items from the ladies that run the shop are a great find. The price tags list who made it. They also have made in Iceland wools.

My daughter and I were advised to visit this shop, since we both wanted to buy Icelandic sweaters during our visit to Iceland. The first day we went, it was closed for Easter (totally understandable). So we were very excited to go back later in...More
