My seven year old son and I were camping at the Reykjavik City Campsite, so it was very easy for us to go for a walk in the park after supper. We also went to the pool in the morning and had a lot of fun. The admission was included with our Reykjavik City Cards. School age children are required... More

Open fields, winding paths, ponds, birds, flowers and sculptures. This is a part of Reykjavik worth discovering. There is a low key zoo your children might enjoy.

We spent hours walking the city streets, admiring the Hallgrimskirkja from every angle and in every light, pausing by old houses, commenting how the city grew, but after all that, it was paradise to stroll through the park. Tranquil atmosphere, beautiful flower beds, and fun swimming area for grandchildren and people of all ages!

The botanical gardens (free entry) are well worth a stroll round, although not extensive. There is a lovely cafe in the middle which is (for Reykjavik) inexpensive. Hint - go for a standard coffee, where you can top it up again for free (as is the case in several cafe/bars). Nice soup there too. The swimming facilities are at the... More

I went here with my husband and 12 year old son. The pools were clean, the water warm and we had a lot of fun. My son loved the slide, the basketball court and the obstacle course. We loved the hot tubs.

We ventured a trip to the Park's outdoor, year round swimming facility and had a typical "American" experience. My son freaked out after seeing naked old men in shower room and refused to undress. I thought I had prepared him as to to what he needed to do, undress, take a naked shower etc. He use to run around the... More

A beautiful, big and green park near to the city centre. It is very green and a lovely place to spend some time, especially on sunny summer days. It is very nice to have a walk around, watch the old washing place, the botanic garden or the family zoo.

Geo-thermal pools with slides, amusement park and zoo, botanical gardens... On advice from our concierge on how to get a local family experience, we spend two days in this park. Our children (ages 6 and 8) loved the amusement park (same admission as zoo) with rides unlike what we find in NY. The local pool is a much different way... More

Taking a walk there was amazing. Very peaceful and beautiful nature. The weather was great and the sun was shining so maybe it´s not as great when the weather isn´t too good, but overall a great place, came as a big suprise as I was not expecting much.

On my daily walk I explored the Laugardalur Park on a quiet morning. Beautiful flowerbeds and a nice design of green and paths. Discovered the original place of Laugardalur warmwater/geothermical wells - good info on boards about the history of the place!
