Overview
More
Whale Safari is Reykavik's only small groups whale watching tour operator. Our specially made RIB boats are made to get close to the whales, dolphins and puffins of the Faxafloi Bay. We only seat 12 passengers per boat, and each boat has a expert whale watching guide and captain on board. Another thing is that all our small group tours are real ocean safaris, as we search for the whales we also visit the puffins when they are in season and do a sightseeing tour of Reykjavik from the sea front. Oh! And all of this in less then two hours. Our ticket office and service center is located in the Old Harbor in downtown Reykjavik and is open year round from 8:00-21:00. Tours are operated up to 7 times a day, everyday from the 15th of April to the 30th of September.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our express puffin tour with Mr. Puffin & Co./Whale Safari. Our guide, Mike, was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Unlike most of the other puffin tours, our boat was small (holds about 12 people max) and speedy so that we...More

A RIB, in my opinion, is the only suitable transport for whale watching. Rather than long punishing hours on a large boat, full of annoying tourists, pitiching and rolling on the sea, BAM! 25mins and you're in the thick of it with humpback whales within...More

We had a great time even if our time with any whale was very brief and they were clearly all shy that day. But Mikes ability to talk and teach about birds and wildlife made the trip fantastic. The smaller boat was much more fun...More

We went out and after like 5-10 min we spotted a whale. Beside the whale watching the boat ride was really cool. And 👍🏻 up for our guide.

Overall the tour was great! The guide was intelligent and explained everything clearly and well. My only complain would be that the overall tour felt a little rushed, maybe just not long enough. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

The best boat tour for whale watching (you can see the big boat passengers and they are not having as much fun as you!) the speed boat is the coolest (especially if you sit in the front), the staff is very friendly and know a...More

This tour was so much fun, we saw lots of whales, puffins, and dolphins. The crew made us feel really safe and made it very fun and educational! Would definitely recommend.

We took the whale and puffin tour on the 600hp speedboat and had Alex for our tour guide. Phenomenal trip and very informative... spent the full 2 hrs out on the water and made very sure the 12 of us saw both Puffins and whales....More

We did the RIB boat from Akureyri to see the humpback whales and were not disappointed! The captain and the guide were friendly and helpful answering any questions we had. They quickly found the humpbacks and we watched in awe. At one point we have...More

Everything about the RIB boat safari was amazing 💯, we encountered all the animals, except the humpback (how unlucky), we still had lots of fun and the guide and captain were both very friendly.More

Hi Khouw Thanks a lot for taking some time to review our Whales, Puffins & Reykjavík tour! It's great that you got to see all the main species except for the humpback. You'll just have to join us another time for that one! We're happy...More

Dear Colleen None of our RIB's have been tipped over by whales. The boats are very stable out on the water and the same kind of boats are for example used in sea rescues in Iceland in bad weather conditions. Best... More

Hey Richard, I will tell you that spotting a Blue whale off the coast of Reykjavik is very rare. We do get Orcas occasionally but again this is still considered rare although less rare then a Blue whale spotting. Blur whales... More
