Very informative staff and beautiful building on the edge of the lake with loads of birds. Even better if weathers bad you can sit inside & watch the world go by

What a great building, inside and out. Fantastic walkway over water from one end and massive model of Iceland inside. Tourist staff really helpful and got us booked on to tours very easily in no time.

Very nice staff and good bathrooms. Interesting relief map of Iceland. Able to help tourists understand issues of traveling to places outside of Reykjavik. Overlooks the lake Nothing special though.....

Staff were friendly without being overbearing, facilities were spotless, wait times were minimal,...More

Lovely views of the ponds from a sheltered, low-level area, with the option of coffee and a wide range of information freely available.

Gave me advice on Northern Lights tours, they had around 150 options. Well laid out, with places to sit down, and free information flyers. You can book tours from here.

Yes, you can go to the restaurant and shop but I wouldn't bother. I'd take the free walking tour of Reykjavik or visit Harpa.
