I had a great time on my free walk. I did give a tip (or donation, or whatever you want to call it - Iceland does not have a tradition of tipping, but as the guide said, they never say no to them, either). This walk took a little over two hours, and went through a small part of the... More

This is a great tour with informative and amusing narrative about the history of Reykjavik. We were advised to pre-book, which the kind folks at the tourist information did, although you can do it via Facebook I believe. This is defiantly worth 2 hours of your trip to get a taster and an idea of the geography of Reykjavik. Good... More

This walking tour is free but at the end of the trip the guide does ask for a free will donation. The tour takes you into the side streets and areas of the city that one would overlook yet give a good look at "everyday" life. The tour takes you through several small parks, containing sculptures and statues of famous... More

We have done walking tours in most countries we have visited and wanted to see what this one had to offer. There were 2 guides, one which i recall being Thor and one that was learning the ropes and i apologise for not remembering his name. However they were both extremely amusing tour guides, both informative but never taking themselves... More

Book in advance through the tourist office and get a history graduate to guide you through the streets of downtown Reykjavik. If it's wet they head indoors but you will enjoy a friendly, knowledgeable, humorous guide. Sara a history teacher will tell you all about vikings and elves and concludes with a stunning artwork in the City Hall. Donations invited... More

A very informative tour that is indeed free (though please tip these excellent tour guides, the tour is far too good to not pay anything). A very informative tour of some of the major parts of Reykjavik with a focus on history and culture. Just know that these guys will hold the tour in all types of weather (probably a... More

So glad we did this tour of Reykjavik town centre. Our guide Berty was funny, informative and very knowledgable, and showed us features of the town we would never have seen otherwise. Our 1 1/2 hour tour turned into 2 hours, wish it had gone on for longer ! Would recommend it to anybody. Advice - make sure you wear... More

What you see is what you get, plus an informed and witty commentary. We rocked up at the town clock per instructions and were met by "Bertie", our guide for the tour. (Bertie, my apologies. You gave ius your proper Nordic name but I'm blowed if I can remember it.) We then embarked on a tour which illustrated the highlights... More
