Being on the Holland America MS Zuiderdam for the Northern Isles cruise, we had 4 days for day trips in Iceland:
- Reykjavik 2 days
- Isafjordur 1 day
- Akureyri 1 day
Booking separate day tours from the cruise ship would be extremely costly,...More
We booked a private tour. When we arrived at the minivan, another person not with our group was already aboard and part of the tour. Phone contact with the management revealed that this is the way IGT does business. We considered it an unethical practice....More

Thank you for the report.
We could post all of our Email communications here, and never once did you mention a private tour as well the price was always just for a shared regular tour. As we have all of our tours group...More
We were visiting Iceland for a week and since we were only 20 years old (and poor students), we figured that renting a car would be too expensive (and maybe not even possible). So we booked a Golden Circle Tour and it did definitely exceed...More
David is our driver, tour guide and also coach. He is kind, helpful, caring and professional. The sceneries in South Coast, including waterfalls, Diamond beach, glaciers are spectacular. Also, David demonstrated his professional knowledge and skill coaching us in the glacier walk. It's really fantastic...More
Great overall experience. Iceland is not
like going to a different country....it is like going to a different planet. It is all about the
beauty, created by nature. Geothermal hot
springs, snow covered mountains, glaciers,
volcanic ash covering 25 percent of the country, icebergs, waterfalls,...More
I booked the package tour with IGT and was very satisfied with this company! I was picked up right on time and the driver guides (Ian drove us for South Coast and Nicola was the driver for Golden Circle) we’re both great!

We recently completed a cruise visiting three ports in Iceland, all very contrasting. One of the ports included Reykjavik for two days. One the first day we were met at the port by company representatives. Well organised and clear direction from the customs area to...More
The ship was an hour late but the bus was waiting for us.
Only 12 on the bus. The driver/guide was very informative about the history, geography and economy of Iceland.
Even though the weather was a bit misty and cold the trip was very...More
Certainly the Great Circle Tour should not be missed, and this is a great company to go with. We had a wonderful tour with great tour guides and drivers. (We also took the South Coast Tour as a combo). But what makes this a great...More

I'm so sorry - we were in Italy/Greece via land & sea. I formed a small group tour on the Cruise Critic Board - great savings and its more fun when you can share the experience and gain the knowledge of a local tour guide. Although a self guided tour may appear to be a cost savings, you miss so much information - it's well worth $100 to do it right. See my reviews for tour guides I highly recommend.

I did try to answer with the email address I have for Into the Glacier, but I couldn’t submit it because of HTML characters, but I’m sure if you put “Into the Glacier “in your search engine it will come up, the email I have is the name of the tour with a dot is. Hope that makes sense.
There is also a website for Reykjavik day tours, but again it wouldn’t go because of the same problem
Enjoy this great experience.

Aurora Activity. In Iceland for a week somewhere between September and May and you'll have enough darkness and a somewhat good chance of a clear night. ... Statistically, the northern lights are most active in March, April, September, and October but you cannot control nature ; To see the Northern Lights you need dark skies and from early-April until late-August, the Aurora may be blazing across the Arctic firmament but it is visible only to scientific equipment, as the skies are just too light for the human eye to see the show. It need dark clear sky
