Small beach about an hours walk south from center city Reykjavík. We walked in the snow and wintertime but the beach was still open. It has two outside “hot tubs”- concrete structures that have heated, steaming water. Both hot tubs were open when we arrived....More

The facilities are not open all days of the week, so you will need to check their opening days and hours before going. You go swimming on your own in the ocean and after you are able to warm up in the steam room and...More

It is free. It is summer but the sea is ice cold. I get into it no sooner than I hurried out. Lovely place for picnic. many people were picnicking. I get to experience steam bath too. All for free.

The idea is certainly unique and on a sunny afternoon was packed with both locals and tourists. Hot water runs into the top pool, then down to the shallow beach pool and then into the lagoon. This means that the lagoon, while warmer than the...More

I was hiking in search for birds in the area so I did not take any transport at all. Please check on Reykjavik websites and I am sure you will come up with something. Have a nice trip!
