Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is just amazing. Not touristy and commercial. Friendly staff and great facilities. A beach area with Geothermal pool and steam room, showers etc frequented by locals and visitors alike.

Swimming in 9 degrees Celsius ocean was amazing! Friendly staff and good change room. A bit hard to find though - needs to be more signs.

The weather in early May was in the 40's Fahrenheit, not warm enough for me to wear a bathing suit. I visited Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach anyway, after I returned from Norourflug Geothermal Helicopter Tour.

This is fun and free! We were there the 1st day of summer which is a holiday in Iceland. We walked down from our hotel which took about 15 minutes flat even surface. The area has a small protected sandy beach area. There is a concrete ring in the water that fills with geothermal water mixed with seawater and is bath temperature. You get into cold but not freezing water at the beach in a sheltered area, then wade to the ring of warm water. There is also a changing area and outdoor shower with a cement trough shaped soaking tub that would fit about 20 people and has steps on either side. It is also geothermal. There are chairs and steps to sit on so if it is good weather this would be a great place to be. We noticed that the ring in the water is tidal so may be completely covered in water at things. The trough is either tidal or is drained at their closing time. We got there around 330pm and by 5pm it had been drained. There is ample parking. A small playground and fast food nearby. I would recommend this for families, as well as anyone else, as a fun and free experience on a reasonably good weather day.

I recommend and it's so nice to go there and lau on your towel there wether it's in the sand or on the little hill which is part of the zone! The showers are good cozy and big it's really nice! :)

Don't miss this! A fantastic opportunity to take a swim in the ocean followed by relaxing in the steam-room and a float in the lagoon or hot pool.
The staff are wonderful.

Such an amazing experience. There is a hot bath located just in the edge of the beach, a steam room, a warmer area of the sea to swim or the freezing cold sea. There are changing rooms, lockers (need to bring your own padlock), showers, toilets & hot drinks + snacks. If you don’t need to use a locker you can store your things in crate baskets which are provided. There is a small fee to use the changing facilities. It is so so beautiful here!!

It's an interesting experience. Not very hot in the lagoon but, for the bold, still super fun to try out.

Having just visited Perlan and having a table booked at Nautholl for dinner, it would be silly not to pop down to the beach and take in the sites. The first thing you notice is how small the beach is compared to your normal holiday destination, but not being a beach person that wasn't an issue.

With lovely views out over the sea its a nice place for a stroll and despite not going all the way in the pools I can confirm they are pleasantly warm.

If you are a beach person and its a warm day, then this place will suit you, but in all honesty if you come to Reyjkavik and spend time on the beach you will be missing out on everything else the city has to offer.

This free Geothermal hot pot is near the Reykjavik airport and easy to access. Free parking. The warm water is nice at the end of they for meeting people and you can run and jump into the Atlantic Ocean, run back (wash feet) and get back into the warm water. A great meeting place and place to relax.
