We had 7 guys on a private tour around the golden circle. Thor answered our questions, kept us comfortable, and gave us a great time around some of the key tourist areas near Reykjavik. Thor was a knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating tour guide. He took us to the obvious places as well as some secondary gems (such as a tomato... More

Thor took us around for 2-3 days and provided knowledge, professional services, photography advice and a pleasant demeanor. He is prepared for everything! Need wifi? He has it. Need crampons? Don't worry, he's got you covered. We really enjoyed our time with him and learned a lot about Iceland.

Went with Thor plus a group of 6 on a Golden Circle day tour. Thor was very knowledgeable and polite. I get the impression that our group made some of the stops take longer than anticipated. Thor did not rush us and made sure everyone had a good time. Highly recommend.

Thor made us welcome and had a great sense of humour while still filling in all the local information. It was a rainy grey day, but we still managed to have an interesting time around the peninsular below Reykjavik. Its a tough job when the fog is down, rain and dark-ish skies without any snow or distant objects to see... More

Just had a great day tour of the Reykjanes Peninsula with Thor. He was a very knowledgeable guide, gave us a very interesting overview of the history of Iceland and also a good overview of the current way of life, and lots of interesting geological information. He also had a good sense of humour. We had a great day despite... More

On the recommendation of a friend who is prior customer, we booked a Golden Circle tour with Thor of Salty Tours. We had a thoroughly enjoyable, exhilarating and educational day despite some periodically challenging weather conditions. Thor is vastly knowledgeable, personable, funny and informative; he was a superlative tour guide and companion for the day. If you are headed to... More

Despite really miserable weather, our excellent guide provided us with a very detailed and intelligent description of the history and geography of this stunning peninsula. Very glad we signed up to this half day expedition. Would thoroughly recommended it to anyone visiting Iceland no matter the weather conditions !!

Great tour. Our driver/guide, Thor was superb: so knowledgeable, being a local and good sense of humour. Highly recommend this tour, especially as you wouldn't reach the places so easily driving yourself. Taken to a lovely, cosy cafe for late morning refreshments; pity we stoked up with breakfast, as a fellow traveller said the fish soup was superb, but lovely... More

An exhilarating half day tour to see the distinctive volcanic geothermal landscape in the south of Iceland. Our guide, Thor, was a local Icelander with detailed knowledge information and experience which he shared with warmth, humour and thoughtfulness. Memorable stories and a really memorable experience. Many of the places we went to were deserted apart from our party of around... More

My husband booked a full day private Golden Circle Tour with Thor for our adult family of 4, having done quite a bit of research, and we were not disappointed. The weather in the morning was not great but Thor kept us entertained all day. Thor picked us up from our hotel just after 9. First we visited the geo-thermal... More
