If you love art in all forms.. visit. If not, go elsewhere to be negative.
This is a beautiful sculpted metal work of art, situated with a scenic view outward to the sea and mountains beyond. It is meaningful of the ancients who traveled far by boat to reach and explore distant shores. Imagine if you will, like an animal that has died and all that is left in the skeleton. This is like the skeleton of a boat symbolizing the era of the Vikings long gone, When visiting here, be sure to walk all around the sculpture to see how the light affects the color and shading. I saw people climbing on it, please don't, this is not a jungle gym on a playground.

    Reykjavik Sun Voyager Sculpture
This is a lovely sculpture downtown Reykjavik. While it's a little bit of a walk from the main downtown, it's worth the extra 5 minutes of walking to visit it. There is an area to sit and take in the views as well as get some great photos from all sorts of different angles on the water.

    Nice Photo Op
It was a nice stop for a photo op of the stainless steel sculpture of a boat and an ode to the sun. According to the artist, it symbolizes the promise of undiscovered territory, a dream of hope, progress, and freedom. It was quite windy and cold around the sculpture. There is no fee to see the sculpture. There is concrete seating around the sculpture.

    Go early or late
It was a very pleasant walk along the waterfront to Sun Voyager. I went in the evening of the day I arrived at Reykjavik and it was fairly quiet and easy to get some nice photos. Well worth a visit on the way to do some shopping.

Pick your time carefully or you will not get the pics you know you want
It was on my list and it was the first place I accidentally came across. So that was handy. The only thing was that it was 4:30 pm and there were another 50 people just like me jostling for position to get that ideal "look where I am" photo for IG. Just as Nick Kamen did, back in the day, I promised myself to go back ... really, really early in the morning on Sunday, but then, Saturday night happened, so I didn't. It is a beautiful sculpture. It is staying on my "to do" list though!

    Good Location for a Photo
A nice sculpture along the sea front. When we went past it in the morning it was quiet but later in the afternoon it was quite busy and buses stopping at allow people to take an pic. Worth going for a walk past it

A nice place to stop by
The Sun Voyager is located in a very scenic and picturesque place. I would also recommend reading the small description from the artist where he gives an insight into the meaning and philosophy of the work. Otherwise, it is frequently surrounded by tourists and, perhaps, becomes a bit overrated.

    Reykjavik Point of Interest
This sculpture is located on the edge of a section of downtown Reykjavik. As the picture shows, it is beautiful and sits on the edge of downtown shopping and the ocean. A drive-by to view it would be just fine. It is not the easiest place to locate parking. Good photo opportunity however!

    Scenic photo op
No way you need here 1-2 hours as advised on TA. It's a 10 min quick photo stop. Sun Voyager is a nice, very modern art installation resembling a Viking boat. It's set on the northern shore of Reykjavik bay in honor of 200 years of its existence.

Classy sculpture in a nice area
Not a long walk from Hallgrímskirkja church to the sea to find this sculpture. Very sleek and modern looking and nice views out to sea from where it is. It was ridiculously windy when we visited, so much so that we were struggling to stand up and being by the sea was almost a bit dangerous so we didn't stay long but enough time to get a few decent pics and admire the view.

This is sculpture that is a Reykjavik treasure. You may not spend a lot of time looking at it but look at where you are on the waterfront. Take a walk on the parkway and you will find that the scenery is spectacular. There is parking right by this site and a paved walkway.

It is a nice sculpture, but it is a sculpture. Nothing else to do there. A bit out of the way compared to other sights. Trip advisor said to plan 1-2 hours we were there about 15 minutes.

A beautiful tribute right off the water. This shining sculpture catches the sunrise and sunset along with the reflection of the water. Worth a view as you walk along the trail, especially at midnight waiting for the northern lights.

It’s a lovely walk along the seafront but be careful in the winter as it can get quite slippy! The boat itself is spectacular with a great view of the mountains behind! An absolute must-see!

A special place for us as we saw the nothern lights here. It is, I believe, one the best places to get away from light poulltion in the capital. The structure is amazing photographed in the sun when it glints.

It's a nice sculpture on the sea front, the backdrop of the mountains make it even better. If it's windy and winter.... you'll need to wrap up as its very exposed, easily walkable from the main high street, about 10 mins ish.
