We were staying near Hella and decided to drive along the coast about 3.5 hours to the glacier lagoon, mostly with the intention of hiking around and driving back. When we saw the lagoon we were stunned and immediately bought tickets (about $95 each) which...More

We loved this company. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave us a great, safe ride around Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon for at least an hour. They helped us into our suits which kept us very dry and warm. We went with about six others in...More

We got a bit wet on a boat, but still, it was amazing, the lagoon and icebergs are so nice! Don't forget your waterproof shoes and gloves :)

Utterly beautiful experience. The lagoon is breath taking on shore and even better when you are up close and personal in a boat. We opted for the zodiac boats in order to take advantage of being in a smaller group and closer to the water....More

We booked with Ice Lagoon Tours because they are one of the smaller companies offering a boat tour on Jökulsárlón Lagoon, and they did not disappoint. There were only 9 people on board, and the zodiac can get up close to the bergs. It was...More

We (my husband and I and another couple) booked the Adventure Tour and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more. We were provided with warm flotation suits and were on a zodiac with about 6 other people. Our driver was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and took us...More

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with the amphibian boat tour. In the price of the ticket you get a not even a half hour tour (surely not 40 minutes as stated on the site) on a crowded amphibian. It is very loud and distracts the...More

I did the zodiac tour today in beautiful sunshine! We were only five people on the boat which was really nice. Went quite close to the glacier and learnt some interesting things. We were also shown how much the glacier receded over the past decades,...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Can I bring a digital SLR camera or a smaller point and shoot camera on a zodiac boat tour or will they get wet and damaged? A waterproof case for the camera is expensive and I did not want to buy another camera. Thank you.

It is possible that the camera could get wet as the boat travels quickly. But if you are sensible and only take photographs when the boat is stationary or travelling slowly there should be no problem.

You can book a boat ride from the 15th May onward but only if it's on the Amphibian which doesn't get so close to the glacier. The Zodiac tours start on 1June but you have all the info if you go to the site of the icelagoon.
