Reach the airport of Akureyri is ok for the scenery in the western part of the town; when there, I've visited this museum with many aircrafts (all well maintained) that made the history of the aviation of this country. We were alone, so helped the...More

Called by as a snowstorm prevented us from driving to our original destination, and welcomed in although they were in theory closed. Run by enthusiasts who are also pilots and restorers of old aircraft, they are wonderfully knowledgeable and so friendly. They let us wander...More

This was a nice but small museum. Planes are limited to one hangar and have some tie to Iceland. For the small number of airplanes on exhibit, it is well organized. I took a pleasant bicycle ride from the port to get to the museum...More

This is a small museum with some wonderful little gems from Icelandic history. They had interpreters there explain the significance of the many interesting aircraft there, and they are a must. The access to touch and feel the exhibits was exceptional in my experience.

I greatly enjoyed my time at the museum, I was lucky enough to stop there on Iceland independence day and enjoy the open house and airshow!!! There is so much to see in such a small building!!!

Great little museum run by friendly aviation fans. Displays the aviation history of Iceland. Several old planes displayed in hangar next to Akureyri airport. Well worth a visit.
