Definitely make a tour of this area be your first priority upon landing at Keflavik airport. It's compact enough to see many of the highlights in a day before heading to Reykjavik and very rewarding. There's such a variety of things to see, from barren...More

We drove the coastline in March, windy but very little snow. Beautiful seascapes, towering cliffs, scenic lighthouses, and bubbling geothermic features. What's not to like. The drive back to Reykjavik on Hwy 42 is absolutely stunning. Washrooms are scarce, so make sure to stop in...More

This is a very interesting place to visit to see and photograph and study the unique rock and lava formations. The massive waves of the Atlantic Ocean hitting the lava lined coast line is something interesting to behold. There are also the bubbling hot water...More

This peninsula was so natural and beautiful. We hit it just right by arriving when the sun was coming up. The sights were beautiful. The snowcovered peaks and geothermal pools, waterfalls were amazing
