Rather small but wth decent exhibitions, good retroperspective of A. Aalto life and work. I highly recommend the cafe for lunch, good food for decent price. Since it was A.Aalto birthday museum treated visitors with free cake and coffee. Very lovely gesture!

I thought I knew Aalto's works quite well but I was wrong. He has done many different around the world, it's amazing how big influence he has had. The museum exhibits a good selection and examples of his work. Very interesting to see and read about those. In addition to the standing exhibit, they have also temporary exhibitions. This time... The Aalto museum is a very small affair, but original sketches and a very thorough collection of models, chairs and even jewelry round out the dated, but important collection. The building and the campus are the real thing. Try to go on Friday when it is free....you will be in and out far quicker than you might imagine.

My husband and I went there at September. It was good but I think if they give us some information about subjects it will be better. If you like art and surrealism you will enjoy it. My favorite part was the house with 1970 decoration and design.

The museum showcases Aalto's life and work very well. The museum building is also the architect's own design. We enjoyed the cafeteria and the view of the water feature from it. We thought that the museum store was overpriced.

As a Finnish person I thought I pretty much knew Aaltos career turning points and buildings he has designed in Finland. I was wrong. Museum, even though quite small, gave good view of Aaltos career and buildings he has designed. Also I suggest you walk there from the center so you get to see university campus that is also his... His works are on display, but you would finish the whole museum in less than 1 hour. I was expecting more displays but this museum was not that exciting, honestly.

A simple and short museum, yet containing all you want to know about Aalto, his work and life. We really fancied the furniture and also coloured decorative glass display. Don't miss out the gift shop, it's great to at least look at all the minimalistic house accessories, even though you won't buy anything.
