This is a beautiful family place, it has no guided tour but one can self-guide through the screens provided in English, Finnish and Swedish languages. The trams are clean and cute, antique and lovely to look at. Better yet, there are trams that one is...More

VeryVeryVeryVeryVeryVeryVery interesting museum with a moderate interactive collection of trams. For free!! You can take pictures with flash, imagine yourself as a tram driver, or a passenger of 1920's-60's, and have your own punched tram ticket.

Basically, there are maybe 9 trams and some signage here. It's a hop-on, hop-off stop, though, and there are some restaurants and stores here, so it can be worth a stop. Tram museum is free, so you can't complain about the price.

Tram Museum (Ratikkamuseo) is situated in the cultural center named Korjaamo, where you find restaurants, too. The museum is located in the historical tram hall, which was completed in 1900. The tram hall was built for electric trams, but they also had horse-drawn trams. In...More

Good write up if the history of trams in Helsinki in Finnish, Swedish and English - and a number of different trams through the ages - some of which it is possible to sit in.

Despite being called a tram museum, it's more of an events venue with some trams around the edge of the hall. The examples there are are indeed well preserved and interesting enough, but it's just a shame that more hasn't been made of the museum....More
