I love libraries and this one stands out! History - get a snapshot or dive in deep here. Very calm, super polite, I felt this place embraced us. The interior architecture is really worth seeing. Splendid service, wonderful people.

While we did not get time to venture inside the library, I loved the main building architecture. Its an old building built in the 1800's i think with a good old world charm about it.

This library has been build in 1800’s and it has been designed by Engel, who has designed pretty much everything in the parlament square. It’s a good quick stop when wondering around Helsinki and especially this area.

Beautiful middle hall with balconies. The library works also as a normal library so you can borrow books. Friendly staff and place to leave your backbags.

This is seriously a hidden gem. The lifeguard on our cruise suggested it - it was amazing. You won’t need a lot of time here but worth the 15-30mins. You can always spend more time than that:)

The museum is NW of the train station a few blocks. If looks like a large Luthern church, but it was built as a museum. A path through multiple rooms on multiple levels. From mid evil to modern Finland. A lot of mid evil war...More

The Library has an amazing room just after the entrance foyer. Impressive columns with beautiful carving at the top. We walked up five flights of stairs to the top (there is a lift) where light floods in through a glass dome. Beautiful railings lined the...More

It's worth heading in and taking a look when you are at the Helsinki Lutheran church (since its across the street). It's a beautiful building, and its free.
