Saw this building when walking up from the Hakaniemi Market and instantly thought I have to go and have a look. Has the look of something out of Fritz Lang movie Metropolis from the outside but when inside is very austere still worth a look though. I also liked the outside lights which reminded me of Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs

WHAT a simply beautiful VERY old church this is! When I did some research on this building before we went I found that it was described as "one of the purest representatives of the Romantic nationalism style in Finland" and it's easy to see why! One reason I wanted to visit was that I have a friend who was invited... More

Beautiful modernist church and imposing as it was perched on a hill. You can see this when you're standing by the side of Helsinki Cathedral and Senate Square.

This very impressive stone church is located in the Kallio hipster area. Do study the program of the church and join a concert or a ceremony. The church is super beautiful both in and out.

This is the church in Helsinki. Sure there are more famous but this is more real. As a building it is massive and very impressive. Inside is very modest but still very nice. A must see in Kallio and very good reason to visit Kallio.

You can just imagine how many people and how many stones this church is made of. So beautiful, so breathtaking and so reminding of our history. So proud it's just standing there and let us know it's the greatest of all.

This is an interesting-looking church. But it is a very long walk from city center and the rest of the attractions.

Kallio Church has a very solid look to it with its Art Nouveau design. The bell tower is huge with a green dome in front of it. Inside is beautiful too but keep in mind it is in the fairly spartan in the Lutheran tradition. It is much simpler inside than the Helsinki Cathedral. An interesting feature is the curved... More
