This is a very interesting museum of modern and contemporary art with a permanent collection and changing Finnish and international temporary exhibitions. I was lucky to be in Helsinki during the Yayoi Kusama exhibition (and before that, the Ai Weiwei exhibition!). It was tastefully exhibited, taking up a large part of the venue. The staff is always very friendly, the... More

A good place to learn more about Nordic/ Finnish artists, with exhibits on famous Finnish artist Tove Jonsson most worthy. A bit disappointed that much of the exhibits were closed, perhaps prepared for the busier summer season. Probably explained why the charge was only EUR5 instead of EUR10

Saw Yayoi exhibit when I was there. Was quite happy to have caught this exhibit. It was an interesting one to see into her past.

HAM is conveniently located in the center of Helsinki, on the second floor of Tennispalatsi where the big movie theater also is located (which allows for a 'cultural combo' in the same building, by the way). My own daytime combo this Thursday was a mix of work and culture: I went here during my extended lunchbreak to catch the Yayoi... More

Went to the Yayoi Kusama's In Infinity exhibition and it was definitely worth a visit! Even though there was a long line for the tickets, the cashier was fast and everything went smoothly. Reserve 1€ coin for a locker to store your belongings!

Yayoi Kusama: In Infinity, exhibition is fabulous, entertaining and mind-blowing exhibition, you really ought to see if you can (exhibition is closing during this wk). There were plenty of brilliant art to see and explore. Huge amount of people were visiting the exhibition during the weekend, so prepare time to see at least the most essential art works.

The fabulous world of Yayoi Kusama is still on show for a week, but the new Tove Jansson space will remain permanently in HAM. It consists of two sets of murals representing the dual talent of the artist, mother of the Moomin characters and a painter moving along the times. Party in the City and Countryside were originally commissioned in... More
