Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a large green space near the water in Helsinki, on the waterfront trail, very popular with the locals. There are some hills which a worth climbing because the views are excellent. Also, depending on the weather there might be ducks and other birds to watch.

We visited this place to relax after a busy day. We travelled here by tram then walked in this nice park. There are lots of trees and flowers, benches and playground for children. It's arranged and clean. You can take lots of photos, too.

Big and beautiful park. Lovely area. Well-maintained. Multiple playgrounds. Easy to access due to it being on a tram stop. A little hilly in parts.
Perfect for picnics, playground time, dog walks, jogs, and so much more.

It is obvious that Kaivopuisto is a lovely park in the summer with it's curving walkways and old trees. In the snowless darkness of mid-winter you might look at and visit buildings near by. Many foreign embassies are situated by the park in a variety of houses of different architectual styles. This is also an elite location to live in, Kaivopuisto real estate prices are the highest in Helsinki. Cafe Ursula is a traditional place at the end of the park by the sea, open all year around. When there is snow people come to ride
toboggan on the gentle slopes of the park and have a warm drink at Ursula afterwards.
The busyest day in Kaivopuisto is May 1st when university students and alumni gather
for picnic in the chilly spring weather. It is one of the days in Finland when you,'re almost officially presumed to be drunk.
If the winter is cold enough the small boat marina on the other side of the park will freeze over and you can walk to near by islands. It is possible to reach Uunisaari even during open water by a pontoon bridge. The cafeteria in the old red brick building is open during weekends in winter.

I beg all my readers to check out this expansive, lush urban park on the southern end of central Helsinki. It’s moderately hilly, with grassy areas for picnics and benches for people-watching and admiring the harbor vistas. I drive a power wheelchair, and most of the trails within the park are completely wheelchair-accessible. Anyone of any background will find something to appreciate here. Plus, it’s free!
Do yourself a huge favor and visit the Kaivopuisto ASAP. Take lots of pictures, and have fun!

Great view of different islands, walk in the park, play on the playground, get a coffee or a drink (especially in the summer time).

If you're visiting Helsinki, you should plan to spend at least one afternoon walking about Kaivopuisto and the seashore. It's the most beautiful park in Helsinki, and by the sea you will find a lot of cafés and restaurants where you can sit down for a snack and enjoy the sun. The park is the place where most people go to enjoy their traditional picnic on the 1st of May.

Kaivopuisto is a park in Helsinki located right next to the city centre.
It's a known hangout spot for locals and tourists alike.
I found the park to be beautiful and peaceful- and clean!
It's located right next to the ocean, so you get a nice cooling breeze even on hotter days of the summer.
The park has various things to do, other than having a picnic too. I visited the observatory and had a rather nice, but expensive, dinner at Kaivohuone which transforms in to a club during summer evenings.
Lovely place to just wonder around, or to ait down and enjoy the day.
Definitely worth checking out, if you're visiting helsinki!
