I love museums and found this one to be particularly well designed (Which if no surprise as it is in FINLAND!) Personally, I found the Viking exhibitions to be the most interesting aspects of the museum which is a bit disappointing as I wanted to...More

I really enjoyed the travel poster exhibit currently on and met the organizer who works in a shop there. Worth a visit some great displays. The permanent museum isn't great. Not a lot if interest. I'd strongly suggest they visit the national museum in Scotland...More

This is an old-school museum with rather dusty displays, but the English explanations are quite good. Also, there's a "workshop" room for children that is really excellent. It has tons of hands-on teaching fun, like kid-sized lightweight logs notched and ready to build actual kid-sized...More

I'm a historian, and I loved this museum, which will teach you a lot about Finnish history if you work through the rooms methodically and read all of the signage (which is available in English). The "Visit Helsinki" exhibit of travel posters was great, too....More

This was one of the last museums I visited in Helsinki, and I may have been suffering from 'museum fatigue' by this time, but it was certainly a worthwhile visit. There were some closed areas of the museum but there was still plenty to see...More

I visited in Finland`s national museum 10.3.2017. Service was rude and I didn`t feel welcome at all! There was a lot closed space and I really hope that no one think that our history in Finland is so boring and poor as the museum shows...More

The museum has a nice exhibition about Finland in medieval times and up to 1700. It is lacking however any history on the turbulent periods from 1800-1945. And that is a pity . Or are some parts closed ? There was a nice special exhibition...More

The place looked like it was going through some exterior maintenance while I was there. It was 7€ for a student ticket including wardrobe. The exhibitions are mainly focused on statues, furniture and clothes which are all an interesting time-travel. I was hoping for some...More

Pricey!! €10/adult and €7 for students! And most of the exhibitions were closed so there wasn't much to see! What we did see was quite interesting, especially the bits on religion, but it was a shame that there wasn't much there. Worth visiting if you...More

Most important for me is the overview of the turbulent Finnish history. But you can spend hours there trying to see as much as possible in all the interesting rooms.

Didn't see them. Possibly you are thinking of a different museum? This is in Helsinki.
