A very digestible collection of exhibits to describe and explain the history of Finland. Having known very little of the topic before entering, I can now say I have a relatively good grasp. A variety of displays, some interactive, keeps you entertained on all floors....More

Unfortunately, we were rushed through the museum by a guide from our cruise shore excursion. The exhibits highlight the history and cultural patrimony of Finland (including one of the six thrones that the Russian Tsars had scattered around the empire). I wouldn't go out of...More

The National Museum has diverse exhibits on the history and culture of Finland. I enjoyed the pre-history section and the throne room. There was a great photo exhibit on the people of Finland to mark their 100th anniversary of independence.

It was second time to visit here but I could enjoyed more than I thought. There are lot of amazing crafts and treasures from ancient Finland. I'm not big fan of religious things but I loved tools for living there. Museum shop is also good.

We were rewarded with some very interesting history of Finland after we figured out where the entrance and ticket office were located. Displays are first class and information is easily available in three languages. I particularly enjoyed the special photography exhibit.

This museum is in need of a little modernisation, and tells the story of Finland from early ice age to modern day. The basement ice age exhibition is a highlight but the rest is worth a visit. Signage is in Finnish, Swedish and English.

We travel a lot and often seek out national history museums to get a bead on the main historical events that shape a nation. Sometimes these museums are lame, incoherent and not worth the price of admission. This one is not bad on early and...More

Didn't see them. Possibly you are thinking of a different museum? This is in Helsinki.
