There isn't much to see in the City Museum, but some of the concepts are interesting! The "smell of Helsinki" was an interesting idea, for example. It was also free, which was great - no other museum in Helsinki is (I believe). Worth popping in!

A great small museum with a lot of fun for the kids, and a cafe serving delicious filter coffee that you can refill for free.

The second area is called: Children's town, this area is more orientated to families with kids and is kind of interactive. My favourite part is the one... More

This is well worth a visit especially combined with Senate Square. On a cold, grim day this provides a good afternoon to find out about Helsinki through the ages.

This museum is a good value way to learn about the city. It is a very tactile museum with some amazing curations to play with! I would recommend a visit if your in the area-particularly with small children as there is a whole area devoted just for them to enjoy!

A lovely place to see, experience, relax – or just pop in for a quick visit. The newly renovated museum has something for everyone. The childrens’ museum: “Childrens’ town” is an excellent, hands-on experience for the kids on two floors. I also recommend adults to take a look around. The specialty is “Mummola”: an authentic 70’s style city home where... More
