Contemporary art may get diverse opinions, but in addition to the art this museum has also educational focus (depending on the exhibit) and even entertaining point of view, not that serious all the time. Cafeteria and a small museum shop are part of the building in addition to unique viewpoint to the statue of marshall Mannerheim next to the museum.

You need to be challenged... you need to see, feel, smell and be curious! The beauty of Helsinki is that Kiasma is within walking distance in the city. Be mesmerised with the architecture.. absolutely soulful.

This museum shows the ARS17 exhibition that shown how the modern art combines with technology. I think I am missing something here since I did not enjoy this museum all that much. There is no “conventional” art like you see in other contemporary art museums. Again…I think I missed something because most reviews are very positive. There are many screens... More

The Finnish museum of modern art also celebrates the centenary of Finlands independence. It is done by a state-of-the-art and forward-looking exhibition with focus on how the newest information technologies merge into modern art. However only few of the works was really interesting to my taste.

Lots of digital media art. Interesting, provoking, and at times, very disturbing. Definitely makes you think...

Kiasma is a modern art museum in the centre of Helsinki. The museum is worth a visit for the building itself. Walking around, I was reminded of Daniel Liebeskind (the architect behind many cool museum - and other - buildings). We saw the Mona Hatoum-exhibition, which was excellent. Some of the permanent items were also really interesting, especially the objects... More

Kiasma museum and the building by Steven Holl is always attractive and their permanent collection is good. At this time they have their highlight exhibition, international contemporary art exhibition ARS17. This was not so interesting this time - normally ARS exhibitions are excellent. Too much video and multimedia art and too much empty spaces. Only few interesting works. But the... More

Interesting building with interesting exhibition. At the time I was visiting, there was a exhibition of Mona Hatoum that I found interesting. But the main reason was a photography exhibition of Meeri Koutaniemi who is a excellent photographer.

We were lucky enough to see two excellent, thought provoking exhibitions within. Fantastic space, information in various languages, cafe and easy access for all.

Kiasma is a beautiful building in the middle of Helsinki. We purchased the Helsinki card which got us in for free. There is a free cloakroom and plenty of toilets throughout the gallery which is good considering the amount of floors! It is a large gallery but very easy to navigate and you can do the whole gallery in 2-3... More
