Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The statue of Johan Ludwig Runeberg is prominent in Esplanade park in Helsinki and in fact it would be hard to miss. Runeberg (1804-1877) apparently was a priest and poet and considered Finland's National Poet.

Johan Ludwig Runeberg's (1804-1877) memorial is situated in The Esplanadi Park. The Esplanadi Park (read separate Tripadvisor reviews) is the focal point of Helsinki and the memorial is the center of the park. Runeberg was the national poet of Finland and the author of the Finnish national anthem. So this statue is very important for me and other Finns. The statue was the first public monument (erected in 1885) in Helsinki.

This is a rather imposing sculpture, located in the middle of the Esplanade boulevard, facing a lovely garden.

This appears to be a statue of a guy with lots of poop on his head. I think he wrote music so they made him into a seagull perch.

There are several statues at the Esplanade Park, one them is this attraction. This monument is standing at the middle of the park, surrounded by garden beds full of beautiful flowers.

There are benches around here where people are just enjoying the beautiful weather.

The statue of the famous Finnish poet stands in the Esplanade Park. In December it was in the middle of the Christmas lights.

Johan Ludvig Runeberg (1804-1877) was a Finland-Swedish lyric and epic poet. He is the author of the lyrics for the Finnish National Anthem.

The statue was made by his son Walter Runeberg. It was unveiled in 1885 in Esplanade Park.

The fame of J.L.Runeberg, our national poet though writing in Swedish was so great in the late 19th century that his name isn't even mentioned on the plinth. Walter Runeberg, his son the sculptor designed the memorial where a female character holds the words of the national anthem Our land. The erection of the statue in the very center of Helsinki was a great party in 1885, all shops were closed, great musical pieces were performed and flags flew everywhere.

This attractive statue has a prominent position in he Esplanade Park in Helsinki and was the most interesting of all the statues. Johan Runeberg was a poet born in 1804 and died in 1877. The seagulls seemed to find Johan's head a great place to rest.
