We have visited every exhibition at this quite new art museum that has very interesting underground spaces for the exhibitions. This time the exhibition was Bill Viola's Inner Journey. American Bill Viola (b. 1951) is one of the most acclaimed video artists of our time. His projections of mythically flowing waters and fires are now  filling Amos Rex’s underground exhibition space that could have been filled more effectively. In our opinion, this was the worst exhibition here. Luckily, we have the Finnish Museum card and didn't have to pay the entrance fee of 20 euros. It would have been bad value for the money.

In the huge main underground space was the exhibition Blick by Raija Malka & Kaija Saariaho. This exhibition takes the visitor into the midst of sound work by Saariaho and installations by Malka. It was a strange experience. The other exhibition Between us by Karoliina Hellberg, Tero Kuitunen, and Raimo Saarinen was within the museum and Bio Rex, but outside the main exhibition hall. Bio Rex is a striking functionalist cinema from the 1930s and the stunning interior was nice to see. Outside on the terrace was a strange work by Raimo Saarinen called Garden of the Apocalypse. In the Sigurd Frosterus collection, you are able to see more conventional art.

We went to see the ancient Egyptian exhibition, and liked it very much over all! Atmosphere was real and interesting, also very well arranged during COVID-19.

We have visited many times this centrally located underground museum. This time there was a very popular Egypt exhibition where you can take a journey back in time thousands of years to the Egypt of pharaohs. The exhibition was interesting but cannot beat seeing these objects in the real location.

Amos Rex is an art museum located underground in Lasipalatsi. It opened in 2018. We have visited this museum many times. Now there was an exhibition called Generation 2020. It presented the works of over 80 artists aged 15–23. Most of the works were quite strange. The museum space itself had more to give than the artworks.
