Was a bit tricky to find but I loved it! Good atmosphere, nice people. Right by the sea. They just built two new saunas. Check out their fb-page to see if they have anything special planned.

Great wooden saunas with a possibility to dip in the sea. Completely built and run by volunteers, this "hidden" secret in Helsinki offers great löyly, beautiful views towards the ice breakers, and nice people year-round. Whether you come alone or as a group, and bathe...More

There was arson yes, but we built a new Phoenix-sauna next to it right in the same day. We're also building the biggest sauna yet with 20-25 seats. We're open 24/7/365 and will be around at this place for at least a couple of years....More

Pros: The sauna itself is really good quality (best in Helsinki?) what goes to temperature, moisture and löyly. Free of charge, free parking. Good people and good atmosphere. Clothes optional mixed gender. Do-it-yourself spirit. Cons: Somewhat hard (and scary?) place to find. No toilet, no...More

Every year the city talks that this place should be removed. It was established with out any permission but now it has city's approval. It's open 24 h and free! This is what Helsinki and Finland should look like!

Sompasauna is an alternative sauna that will likely not last very long at this place as it is an area where new flats will be built. There are 2 sauna barracks , one small for max 3 people and a bigger one with window to...More

Come to the sauna if you dare :) Here it is worth, and does not drain your wallet. The sauna is warm every day, if it is not when you arrive, so you heat it first. Please bring firewood and water, and towel

A non-commercial sauna run entirely by volunteers. Something of a curiosity, but also a very good sauna experience in itself. Usually a mixed, international crowd. A possibility to swim in the sea. Everybody is welcome.

Swimming naked in the sea with a view on beautiful Helsinki city center after warming up in sauna built and run by volunteers, absolutely wonderful finnish people (and most of them even chatty!), unique atmosphere, possibility to barbeque. Awesome experience!
