    Worth every penny! Must Do!
About a 25 - 30 minute drive from Saariselkä. Road conditions aren't bad in the winter unless a storm is coming then no one is going anywhere. Easy to find. Best experience we had on our Lapland trip. Dog sledding is super fun, can be challenging, and the dogs were very friendly. This place only accepts 8 ppl max on the tour. We had 7 ppl. Keeping it small makes for a better experience. The guide was super friendly and answered all our questions. We enjoyed it so much we ended up buying up what felt like half their souvenirs. They had Kuplika, beanies, sweaters patches, dog treats. We did the 4hr tour. About 2-3hrs of dog sledding which was optimal for 2 ppl rotating on the sled. I don't think I would have wanted more or less time. Recommend: 4hr Tour 10am to 2pm. The lighting was perfect.

    A great day out!
We had a really fun 4 hour husky ride with a lovely lunch half way. Well cared for and loved dogs that were super-keen, fast and friendly. Nice humans too :) Very thrilling! Highly recommended.

    A wonderful adventure
We have spent an amazing winter vacation of 6 days by Extreme Huskies! Beautiful surroundings, nice people, incredible dogs and a very cozy cabins! Inside a cabin you'll have a stove, for which the staff supplies enough wood to keep it burning. An electric heating present as well, which will not let the temperature go too low in case if the fire in the stove goes off at night. You'll find a pot and a pan in case you would like to cook something, a tee pot, mugs and plates, forks and spoons. Whether you wish to do a BBQ, there's an apart standing kota (finnish wooden hut), where you'll find all the tools you need to make a good BBQ on firewood. You can also go to sauna on traditional finnish way, by bringing the water from the forest stream and heat it up in the tank together with the sauna itself, by burning the wood in the sauna's stove. We were running out of the sauna and jumping in the snow! :) Amazing! Every morning you get a nice breakfast at the reception kota. If you wish, you can also book sledding with the huskies! (Be sure you do it in advance cause they could be fully booked!) They also gave us tips for booking snowmobile safaris, rendier sledding and renting Bigfoot mountain bikes and ski trough their partners from Ivalo. There's no running water in the cabin and that's the reason why you'll have to learn to use bio toilet. (It isn't something terrible at all) Drinking water you'll get from the staff in tanks of 10L and every time one is empty you'll get another. So after all said above, I think it might be not a place for people addicted to maximum comfort. You'll have to do some effort to enjoy things in there. But it is for sure a great experience! And sure this is a place for someone who's looking for an adventure! For myself I know that I'll be back one day! Big thanks to Extreme Huskies! You are the best!

Learn how to be a musher and lead your dogs on a path
Amazing experience! We were taught how to be a musher, and followed our guide on a trail with our own set of dogs while our partner rode in the sled. Halfway though, our guide made a fire in a teepee and prepared lunch for us which was delicious fish soup. The views and scenery all along the trail was breathtaking!

    Run with the dogs!
My husband and I had an incredible time with Extreme Huskies! We did the four hour lunch tour, which seemed like the perfect amount of time. I always look for humane experiences, and I could tell these dogs were well loved and cared for. They were conditioned but not overrun. Our course got us out in the wilderness and didn’t make you feel as if you were on a small carnival or kiddie ride. It was a great experience! It is quite cold, so I recommend bringing hand warmers and foot warmers. As a passenger, you aren’t moving a ton, so you tend to get colder. We enjoyed experience this immensely!

Amazing way to spend time in the nature
One of my dreams came true when I did the four hour lunch tour! It was a great experience and the dogs were cute too. Also our guide knew a lot about the dogs. I think that the length of the ride (4 hours) was perfect. There was a lunch in the midway so you can walk a bit, eat, use the outhouse and get warm inside of the hut. I didn't have a partner with me so I drove all the time and I think I couldn't be able to stand much further. Driving the sleigh was easy, you just need to slow down or stop the sleigh so no need for guide the dogs to turn etc. as they just followed the first sleigh our guide drove. It was good that our group was small (7 people + guide). The views were great too!

    Fun in the snow!
Wonderful guides provided safety instructions so everyone had the opportunity to drive the sleds. The dogs are smart, strong , and well cared for. We traveled about 10 miles through a forest with pristine piles of white snow all around us. It was magical! Coffee, tea, and cinnamon rolls were provided after the run, as we learned more about the dogs, training, and homestead. I would definitely recommend this!!

    unforgettable experience
I booked a 4-hour safari a few days ago. It was an unforgettable experience. The huskies were amazing, all well-trained and always eager to go! The humans were not bad either 😜, very friendly and professional. I chose to drive on the way out, which was quite easy to learn, and then relaxed on the sled on the way back, all the while enjoying some beautiful scenery.

The four hour husky ride with lunch was scenic, cold, and fun— a perfect Lapland adventure! The temperature was -23C so it was quite cold. Definitely recommend wearing many layers and borrowing (for free) a snowsuit if needed. Also helpful if you bring hand / toe warmers and goggles. (They sell hand warmers for 3 euros a piece). The sledding track was across a frozen lake, along the forest, and up to a hut. Plenty of turns and small hills. Lunch is in the hut with a fire and consists of salmon + vegetable soup with bread. (For vegetarians, it’s vegetable soup). Afterward there’s coffee and a cookie. The group has a max of 8 guests plus guide. It’s 2 people per sled with a total of 4 sleds. There are opportunities to switch drivers. Driving the sled isn’t difficult and the pace was leisurely. There are 5 dogs per sled. Wish they took some photos of us driving the sled and wish the sled had a blanket (it’s cold sitting in there). Price is 205 euros per person and transfer is 10 euros per person. Overall, highly recommended!
