One of the main attractions in the city. Nice that it is old and has traditions - but the fishmonger at the Nordstan is far superior to this one.

This place is called Fish Church because of the obvious resemblance to a church. Inside it is a large space lined both sides of the building with just about anything you can imagine coming out of the sea. The catch is only hours out of the sea and I'm sure the freshest seafood in the area. Lots of shoppers here... More

From what I heard I was expecting a big market with fishing boats, lots of vendors, and numerous fish restaurants. It was a tiny market -the size of a small church with no boats only a few vendors and two overpriced seafood restaurants. There weren't even seafood spots nearby. Seriously, don't go out of your way to visit but if you're... More

All sorts of seafood with restaurants to dine in, as well as benches to sit outside if the weather is good. Short walk away from the shopping streets and there is a supermarket nearby where you can grab drinks before you reach the fish church. Try the seafood platter if you want variety!

Smaller than you think but really Gothenburg. It's called "the Fish church" but has never been used as a church

This is the ultimate place where to enjoy every sort of fish! Strolling around through the amazing stalls you are overwhelmed by the delightfully prepared and impressively presented variety of fish courses. You are free to buy the fish at the stall and eat it straight away, then you will surely be tempted to try at least a second delicacy.... More

The place for friends at lunchtime. The fish is perfect and the hipster service is great. Don't miss it!

Apparently it is typical of Gothenburg humour to call a place like this a fish church. It is indeed full of many forms of fish - especially but not exclusively herring

Perhaps not the most exciting thing we have visited! Clean, interesting shellfish and seems very popular place for locals to eat. There was a queue down the stairs for the eaterie on the first floor. I'm not sure I would make the journey again though LOL
