This is one of Gothenburg’s hidden gems. This very large natural park close to the cantre of the city is amazing and contains miles and miles of beautiful pathways and small lakes. There is an entrance from the back of the Botanical garden (it’s possible to walk through the Botanical Garden and enter from there) or from Änggården (a very... More

This is a hidden gem! Best accessed from Botaniska - there's paths for walking, easy hiking and mountain biking. In the middle of the city... To me, it's a nature experience in the middle of town. My all time favourite to "escape the city"

A large "reservat" of mother Nature, in direct access from Gothenburgs famous Botanical Garden! Here the nature is left as it is - except for walking paths for our convinience!, with small lakes, pine forrests from different parts of the world, grown for decades, wild mushrooms, wild flowers - a paradise to visit!

Big area to walk and you can actually walk from the center in Gothenburg and end up in a diffrent commune Mölndal. This place is also good if you want to go mountain bike, hike or ride with horse. Really recommend it and its easy to get there buy tram or buss.

When you are tired of the stress in the city then you have this forrest right behind The Botanic Garden. You have different pathways you can choose from. One of the pathways is where you are walking up a small hill and it is similar to the nature in northern Sweden where you are walking up the mountain pathways with... More

This is a beautiful area for walking and a perfect place to do some running after a long day or early in the morning. It's located in the city and it's a direct neighbor to the Botanical Garden. The area is pretty big so you can go for a long walk without seeing the same place twice. If you want... More

It's unique to have such a huge and semi wild recreation area with small lakes, walking and running pathways, etc. close to the city center. I live next to Änggårdbergen and I take advantage of it's natural facilities almost every day independent of whether it's spring, summer, autumn or winter. This is definitely one of the best attractions in Gothenburg.

The botanical garden kind of stretches a bit in to Änggården with trees and plants from around the world, often with a little plate telling the name of the species. There are walkways (not extremely stroller friendly, but ok). Hills, deep forest, lakes, here you can feel that you are in the wilderness though close to town.

This nature reserve in the center of the city, just outside of the botanical park, is amazing. It's serene, peaceful, and beautiful. A perfect getaway if you are a harried traveller or if you're looking for a place to do a forest run. Lots of people walk and run in the nature reserve.
