Impressive to look at the scale etc... but the dam release is the star attraction. The bridge is busy, but there are a few other cliff top view points on the western side of the river.

We were here during the Vattenfalls Dag (waterfalls day) on the 22 of July when they open water locks. A fantastic view when the water cascading down the creek

The town is full of interesting and impressive engineering and engineering history. Just seeing the roads and railway lines moved up and down to let passing ships through is exciting and absorbing. Walking by the canal and out to the great locks is a lovely...More

Beautiful walks for everybody. You can stroll around easy paths along the Canal or walk through Woods.

It was raining during our visit so we drove around, stopped at the locks, the power station and up the road a look out platform, the view from the platform was great to see the overall picture of the area and how it was built...More

Anytime this is a great walk (not in the rain). Take notice of the sculpture and the buildings. Check the power station if it is open.

Went for a long walk in the snow around the islands, very nice. Take a camera as there pictures to be taken.

I went to see the locks, but at the end the whole canal was a great surprise. Nice views and photo opportunities along it. Very impressive locks.
