Just an ordinary castle. We went there simply because we had some to kill before our flight from Skavsta Airport.

If you are travelling in Sweden during the "low season", please check dates and times for museums and other historical locations. Enjoyed the history and the architecture of a castle that was built and remodeled over several generations. Walk the ramparts, stand on the foundations,...More

This old (16th century) castle ruin on the river is a wonderful place to stroll. Two great museums worth visiting. A really nice coffe area is open in the summer.

Took the kids here quiet a few times. There is plenty to see. Guided trips can be arranged and what we saw could be held in English or Swedish ... Good history tour explaining the ins and outs of Nyköping. Nice displays of the usual...More

It was not season to come in, but we enjoyed the look of it outside. Nice architecture, so you can feel like you are in the 14 centuary. And River Nyköpingsån, which located infront of castle, may not look that big, but it definitely can...More

This is a small attraction, which will only take up a maximum of one hour. Very accessible display, with dressing up clothes and hats representing the history that makes some good photo opportunities.

Hi! We are two students from Södertörn University in Stockholm Sweden. Currently we are working on our term paper within a field of media technology that involves a research of Nyköping as a city and Nyköping castle as a tourism destination. We are trying to get in touch with international guests who have been there to know their experience of the place and to get a “users” point of view in our research. We are wondering if someone might be up for a short interview where we would ask few questions about the overall experience? The information will be used only for research purpose and your personal information won't be exposed. Looking forward to hearing from you! :)
