Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Perfectly OK museum, with some old equipment and notices (in Portuguese) on coffee growing and processing. A visit is maybe 20 minutes. We had an English-speaking guide, which helped. Admission includes a tasting of three different coffees. Nicely restored building.

The museum is a good overview of how the coffee plantations of years ago were operated on the island. Many pictures of the general operations and displays of equiment which were used in the production of the coffee bean after being picked in the fields.

interesting explanation of life at the roça and coffee preparation process. Guide spoke several languages. The museum has some old machines and artifacts from the coffee plantation and production process and features life and struggles of contracted labour during the period. Worth the visit.
