Really, this was not what I would expect to do on a vacation. I thought we'd be looking at a hole in the ground that would only be of interest to geologists or structural engineers. I was wrong. There was no fee to walk around the grounds or the great pit, and plenty to see. The info boards along the... More

There is lots to see and do in the museum. Tour in the mine is excellent. You can take a tour above the ground and under the ground or both. Nice surrounding to take a walk. Cosy stay at the Bagarstugan. Nice shop

This mine is the heart and soul of Falun of the past and of Sweden. So much of the history and wealth of Sweden is based from this copper mine. So I enjoyed taking the tour and learning a lot of the past and seeing the remnants of the mine. The tour was good. I think they could have added... More

At around £21 for the underground tour you get about a 1hr guided tour. The mine goes down over 400ft and has been a mining location for a millennia. Above ground you have the museum of its history and can walk around the vast pit.

Take the tour down the mine shafts to experience how miners have worked for centuries. It's fascinating!

Located just outside the town, this is a large pit in the ground surrounded by fence. Not much to see above ground but the underground tour is very nice. Felt comfortable the entire time was underground.

The view of the mine from the ground is amazing. Nice experience for children and adults alike but remember to have warm footwear for the underground visit. Good guide with anecdotes. Interactive museum and a short train tour (included in tickets).

This mine is worth a visit. It's one of the largest in Europe and dates back to the 12 or 1300s. Definitely worth a visit and take the tour. It's no longer operating, and had become a tourist center. The local history stories on the tour are great!

The mining stopped in 1992 but the paint is still being produced. This mine is a world heritage site. Well organized. Tours go every 15 minutes. There are tours in English as well. You will get a cape and a hard hat to protect you. In the mine itself it is damp and fairly cold so bring a jacket and... More
