Djurgården is undoubtedly one of Stockholms most wonderful green areas. Djurgården itself is an island and there are many attractions on it (Skansen, Abba museum, Gröna lund, junibacken, nordiska museet, Vasa museet and more) but apart from the attractions it also has great paths to stroll and let the kids run on. On a warm sunny day it is very... More

Walking distance from the center of Stockholm ( 15-20 minutes walk) is this this fantastic breaking place of Stockholm. You can walk for hours but also visit very interesting museums as Vasa museum, Thielska gallery ( art collection museum), Skansen (Zoo of Stockholm), ABBA museum, Waldemars Udde museum ( Prince Eugene, the painter prince) and much more. Great place to... More

Djurgarden is a beautiful park located on the opposite side of the road from the famous Vasa Museum and Nordiska Museum and it makes it a good reason to visit these places in one day although there might be not enough hours in one day for that! :-) From Djurgarden you can walk into Skansen which is a must see.... Run or take a stroll along the waterside with some great views in Djugarden. It's really not so far from central town and the view of town from Djugardsbron bridge is stunning

We visited the small island for the Vasa Museum, the amusement park and the outdoor museum. However, the amusement park is closed and it's too cold to walk around the outdoor museum. Fortunately, the Vasa and Nordic museums makes the visit worthwhile.

The feeling that you are out in the nature but right in the middle of the city. Djurgården offers you all nature can offer, beautiful green landscapes, piece and quiet and great places for pic nics by the water. A must do if you are in Stockholm and feel for a bit of nature.

Great place to take a stroll and enjoy a beautiful day. Great views and great paths for walking. Slightly confusing directions in the park though.

If you go there during March the weather might be windy and the garden is still "sleeping" - it is not green nor vibrant. Most of the cafes are still closed and there is nothing much to do.

Stockholm's 'central park' with beautiful museums and other attractions, and wide graded trails for runners and walkers. The shoreline views are particularly beautiful - either to the other islands that form Stockholm or to the open waters of the Baltic. If you are lucky, you will see a large ferry ship drift by as you relax on one of the... More

Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.
