A nice way to spend a wet afternoon in Stockholm. There are many fine art works spread across an impressive building.

Me and my family had a great time at the gallery today. We arrived at 1pm had one hour to wonder around before a very well planned and interesting guided tour 2pm-3pm to get more of a background on all the pieces. Great collection of Scandinavian art and nice family excursion.

This was the house of a wealthy banker who collected beautiful works of art as well as building a house for them, now to be enjoyed by the public. There are some important works by Edvard Munch as well as one by Danish Vilhelm Hammershøi. At the far "end" of Djurgarden, as it were, you need to get a bus... More

From the bus you see a bit of the countryside on Djurgården on the way to this museum, which comprises a large collection of paintings and sculptures by some well renown Swedish artists. It also had a temporary exhibition of textiles. There was a cafeteria with possiblity to enjoy a good lunch. Do not miss a stroll in the garden... More

If you love art you simply must go to this museum. The banker Thiel built this amazing house and helped many of his artist friends by buying their art during the late 1800s'. Here you can find Edvard Munch, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors,Eugén Jansson to mention a few. You can even find letters written by August Strindberg and others.

We didnt have much time so we decided on a small kind of museum. It became the Tielska Gallery. We knew about the Munch collection (having seen the Munch exposition in Oslo 2 years ago) but we didnt expect the Vigelant statues, they were great, standing in the garden, worth looking at. The house stands close to the water and... More

My husband brought us here and I was immediately charmed by the beautiful seaside location and the beautiful Swedish art. We stayed for a delicious brunch and had a lovely sunny view. Such a wonderful spot!

the setting is pleasant and the staff is helpful; but it is the fantastic collection that makes this worth a visit; a very 'concentrated' and first-class collection of all the famous Swedish painters (Carl Larsson, Zorn, Liljefors etc.) and a nice room full of very attractive works by Munch; don't miss this place!

Good enough display of 19 th and 20th Century art. Relentlessly Swedish. Very little accommodation for other languages, and they don't particularly care.

I have visited this gallery on several occasions when in Sweden. It is a beautiful house, with real style and the art work inside is fantastic. My favourites are the paintings by Carl Larsson, but they are all interesting and well worth a visit. On my last visit I noted that there is now a small cafe, where one can... More
