The formal gardens re good and the location is very unusual (between two lakes) but it is a long journey to get here. We ate our own lunch in the courtyard, as a wedding function had booked out the cafe.

I stayed here for 2 nights in a cottage by the lake. I explored the grounds which are open to visitors during the day and they are spectacular, particularly the herb garden, and the general landscape. I also swam in the lake. I had breakfast...More

Been here several times over the past years. Nice old castle with beautiful garden on a lake. Nice sauna / jacuzzi overlooking the lake. Always nice three course menu.

The castle is very large, and probably expensive and difficult in upkeep. But nice to look at from the outside and the gardens are nice to wander about it. Located between two lakes. There is a restaurant and a hotel. The herb garden is well...More

From the outside Bäckaskogs slott looks very impressive, but unfortunately it's nicer from the outside than inside. Having said that, the breakfast room and other public rooms are rather nice, but the actual rooms vary in quality. Some are OK although a bit dated, while...More

Very nice park, a beautiful castle that used to be a monastery, but it is not a historic site like Glimmingehus is. However, if you are looking for a decent hotel with a very good kitchen to enjoy a summer evening, then you have come...More

Have visited a few times. The grounds are pretty for a walk-- right on a nice lake. Went to a company Christmas party here. The food and decor was impressive-- a traditional Swedish smorgasbord which even included a variety of wild game like wild boar,...More
