Definitely the place to visit for genuine Swedish Culture
Aug. 2018 • Family
I could really recommend this place. With free entrance for everyone they are constructing exhibitions about various subjects which are relevant to the core culture of e.g. Sami and the old times of Sweden. As I understand these different concepts switch out after some time to keep visitors coming back. Two floors up, there is also a playing room for children to explore the antique furniture and tools of the old times (nice to let them play there, of course it´s also for free). Definitely worth your time if you´re up for something cultural. Nice staff.

Free musuem!

This museum is free to visit. I walked in and had a look around. There was a lot in Swedish, and not much in English. But you don’t always need the translation to appreciate the artefacts. The building seems to go on forever - so many different floors, with different exhibitions. My favourite was actually one for children that had a film shot with stills, and you could walk through a room with sheets and at the end watch the movie. I thought it was well laid out. The staff were helpful.

Norrbottens museum is the county museum of Sweden,s lagrets county, So, I had hoped for more. Now there were hangouts of two exhibits and what was happening was very sparse.Small shop and cafe on the ground floor.

One exhibition
Jun. 2017 • Solo
A small exhibition about the Sami people, in the form of a story with quotes, pictures and some artifacts. Nice, but will not do justice to such an important cause. And that's basically it. Another small exhibition about an event of hunger in the region. I expected much more. Good thing it's for free.

This is a Museum????
Jun. 2016 • Business
Calling this a Museum is an extreme exaggeration. there is a lmost nothing there and the exhibition of the past is formed by things that while resemble how they use to do it, are completely new

A quick visit
Jan. 2015
We only had a brief look I think it would be worth spending more time there! IT looked like you could take and hour or so to wonder around. No decent souvenirs here.

Ok for a free museum

Simple and small museum, but worth to see if you are in town, since it's free! Some temporary exhibitions and a permanent room depicting the life in Norrbotten in the past!

Free Museum with some displays

When we were there there was no real Sami exhibit. There was one small contemporary Sami art exhibit which was average. The cafe looked nice. Upstairs exhibits were nothing tow rite home about.

Didn't see much when I went here. Good thing it's free admission otherwise it's not worth it. I actually took more pictures of the building from the outside that of the exhibits.
