Nobody who ever read fairy tales will not want to at least met Hans Christian Andersen. This statue is prominently located near a square and is quite easy to see. From the lustre of the thigh over too much posing, you know for sure that this is one landmark that you will want to have in your selfie photo for... More

If you walk along HC Andersen boulevard you will come across his statue, looking over to Tivoli. It is said that HC A had a fear of being buried alive, so every time he went to sleep, he left a note to tell people he was sleeping & not dead !!

This is an essential photo for a trip to Copenhagen, This man has a huge influence here and it is a fitting tribute to H.C Anderson. Sat just outside the town hall square, easy to find and staring towards tivoli. It is a good little free souvenir from this friendly city

I agree with lmsk2014's review that it makes a popular photo opportunity to stand next to the statue and have someone (there was a line of people waiting to take their turns to be photographed by others) snap up a photo of me next to the statue. It's on a popular "trail" so one shouldn't miss it :-)

As with most capital cities, Copenhagen has numerous status and sculptures dotted around the city and after the Little Mermaid, this is probably the next most popular. Commemorating the great story writer Hans Christian Andersen, he sits just to side of City Hall, staring over towards Tivoli Gardens. It is a nice looking statue, with slightly polished knees, probably from... More

If you love H.C. Andersen and happen to stroll by e.g. on your way to the Tivoli or the city hall, do pay a tribute to him. It is just a statue but you can make a nice photo of yourself standing on his lap.

Found this statue close to Tivoli, just walking down the sidewalk. His knees are rubbed smooth, and he has a smirk on his face like he's got some new idea. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Hans Christian Andersen was a great Danish author, renowned worldwide. Andersen is best known for his fairy tales which were translated into more than 125 languages. The statue depicts HC Andersen seated with a book in his right hand. If you are in the area, the statue is worth a look, if not, I wouldn't bother unless you are a... More

This statue is located next to City Hall and across from Tivoli Gardens. His knees are shinny because of people getting up on him and sitting there. See him if you happen by but to rush there is a waste of time. But the man is important to local Danish and world history.
