For once, it's the tourists who get it right – locals almost never experience Copenhagen in this way, and they're missing out on a treat, experiencing the old city centre from a different perspective and seeing almost all the downtown attractions from the water. Canal Tours Copenhagen offer four different tours of the city, ranging from 60-75 minutes in duration, both with or without a guide. They leave from Gammel Strand and Nyhavn, with longer ones taking you as far as the Little Mermaid and out into the Oeresund Channel to the tiny fortress island of Trekroner. On Sunday and Thursday evenings during summer months there's even a 90-minute jazz cruise, with live music aboard the boat.Armed with a strong fleet of 16 comfortable boats, six of which are heated and covered, the Canal Tours takes you through a guided journey along the city s harbor and canal. At least one of the multilingual staff members is always onboard, enlightening guests on the picturesque surroundings. Choose from the various tours available. And for something unusual, go for the Dinner Cruise, where you can enjoy a delectable meal as you cruise along the waters. And if you have charted your own itinerary, then just go ahead and rent one of our boats.

Stromma Canal Tours was a fun way to see the city from the water. The boat goes through several canals, under many low bridges, through the harbor, and past many of the city's landmarks and attractions. The tour guide points everything out and explains some of the history of the attractions and the city as you go by. We choose... More

We were only in Copenhagen for 9 nights, and the boat on the canal experience was so spot on. Go on a sunny day! Go on a cloudy Simpson type day! Go on a cold day! Go on a rainy day! Whichever day and time you choose, it is so much fun. We did not take the free ear audio... More

Great way to chill out and see the city. The guide was very good and spoke in Danish and English. The tour lasts about and hour and a half and is very enjoyable.

The canal tour gives very good view and introduction to many buildings and sights around. There are english audio guide on the boat. We took a round trip which took an hour. The boat is sheltered and hence no issue when it started to drizzle. The windows can be opened for some wind and clearer photos. Alternatively, there are outdoor... More

We went on this as part of the Copenhagen card (really worth it) - try and sit near the outer windows maybe on right ? You see all the main sites and can then get your bearings throughout the city. Lovely on a warm afternoon to glide along the can all etc- the tour guide is a man and quite... More

Really good thing to do on the first day to get your bearings and see where you want to go back to. I would recommend sitting on the right hand side of the boat, all the sights seem to be on that side!

It was too cold to go on the canal part of the tour so we travelled on the bus routes only. Felt the commentary could have included far more factual information. We passed numerous statues but were given no information about them. We thought the last bus left at 5 which would leave us back near our hotel. This turned out... More

I always refuse to go on sightseeing buses but really enjoyed this canal tour. It was a great way to lots of Copenhagen including Christianshavn and buildings around the canals. The tour guide was excellent (how he did it in English, Spanish and Danish was very impressive). Trip also goes to the Little Mermaid making sure we didn't have to... More
